Adam Lambert is sued by Colwel Platinum Entertainment Inc. for "a 504 Copyright infringement case." The lawsuit is tied to a song called "Beg for Mercy" which he reportedly worked together with his guitarist Monte Pittman before he took part in "American Idol" two years ago. However, a copyright registration was lodged in May 2009 for another work with the same title, "Beg for Mercy", according to lalate.com. In the paper, Wilshire Records Limited is listed as the claimant "by written agreement." The complaint for the alleged copyright infringement was filed on November 1 in the California Central District Court, Los Angeles. The legal paper listed the "Whataya Want From Me" singer as a sole defendant. There hasn't been any comment from his camp regarding the issue.

Does anyone know if Monte Pittman and Adam Lambert have parted ways over this "Beg For Mercy" thing. Yesterday was the first time I read that this may be the case. Something about them not following each other on Twitter too. I just thought they had distanced themselves from each other because they are both incredibly busy and would reconnect when Adam put together his promotion/tour band for his 2nd album. I'm under the impression (based on little info) that this may not be the case. Does anyone know the scoop? Neither is talking, so all we can do is speculate. However, Adam did unfollow Monte, which certainly implies a rift in the relationship (I don't know if Monte has since unfollowed Adam, and am too damn lazy to check). I suppose we won't know for sure if they've totally cut ties until Adam starts doing the promo rounds with his band. There has been no word of auditions for a new lead guitarist, but that doesn't mean they haven't happened. Monte still follows Adam. We have no idea why Adam unfollowed Monte or what it indicates. It is most likely because Adam and Monte have split. It may be because of the legal issues related to BFM and on advice from Adam's lawyers. Whatever happened between Adam and Monte, it at least goes back to June -- all the way back to the Moscow concert, probably earlier. So both Monte and Adam has had plenty of time to make alternative plans. ETA: The copyright infringement suit explains two things -- - Adam's lawyers have found a way to lock up all the recordings of music written by Adam. - Welsford is claiming that Adam didn't write "Beg for Mercy" so that song is still for sale. |

I'm sure she will probably sell like dependably all through the holidays, and do very well for herself. But it restores my faith in peoples ears that she's not still selling 10x everyone else. LOL that Bieber is the one that beat her to #1 though. Well, maybe my faith is not completely restored, but I do understand his appeal at least. |
