Do you ever feel like there is a "Big Brother" living in your computer? Search for a recipe and all of a sudden you get a junk e-mail about recipes, etc. I just turned on my itunes and hit the random play thingy. I have thousands of songs on there. First song to come up - Rocket Man.
Since I'm already OT, just listened to this. Can you imagine Adam singing it? I know, I know - old song, wrong style, etc. But it sure would be beautiful.

Not to go all terribly OT, but if you have never watched "Who Is Harry Nilsson and Why Is Everyone Talking About Him", then RUN to watch it. It is on Netflix. He was SO like young Adam- a little ginger haired boy with amazing talent and a voice that stopped people in their tracks. Unfortunately Harry did not have the wonderful upbringing that Adam had and was not particularly well suited for the public spotlight. Everything he accomplished (and he has a massively successful career) was done without benefit of even ONE live performance- he didn't like doing it and so he did not. During his heyday he was "The Beatles favorite band" and figures largely in many of the songs we all know and love either as a writer or in production. A hugely talented man, and as I said reminded me a lot of Adam. One you didn't know he wrote/sang:

Happy birthday Uggybear and my friend Fanadama!!! I wanted to stick up for the Goat Rodeo collaboration being high on the charts right now. I haven't bought it yet, but I have most of the crossover collaborations that Yo-Yo Ma has done with traditionalists like Edgar Meyer, Bela Fleck, and others. They are terrific instrumental pieces that combine classical, jazz, and Americana, and make great music to play during the dinner hour. And wow, Without You! Nilsson was great, and Adam would so knock this one out of the park. ;D

holst, when you said Elton was one of the top sellers, I googled to see if he had a new album out. He doesn't, but I came across this article written by him yesterday. Elton John: I want Zachary to grow up in a world without homophobia
Failing to address the everyday use of the word 'gay' as a playground insult is inexcusable. We owe our children better www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2011/nov/04/homophobia-bullying-elton-johnThe comments are interesting. Brits are certainly more mannerly.

I had to log in to agree. Who knows who made it but that pic is thrilling. Thanks for posting, Lulu. Also, 4Msrmyn (and, again, Lulu) you're killing me with your Adam/Queen porn in ways that I believe are illegal in 48 states and Puerto Rico. I believe that only in the US Virgin Islands, South Dakota, and Southern California is that sort of thing allowed (and we all know they're morally depraved.) Haven't got through the thread yet....but HAHAHAHA! THAT is funny!! (Some of you peeps should be on late night TV)

I'm feeling out of things since I lost Internet/cable. Can't post as much as I want - or even read as much. Feel like a lurker who de-lurks now & then. Plus I'm still out of town for a wedding and doing RL stuff. AND as much as I love the new I Pad, it ain't a PC! Anyway, thinking back to my Sept trip to Montreux, Switzerland and the statue of Freddy on the quay. My US compatriots mostly didn't know who he was! : The people honoring him there were Brits. Here's hoping our greatest dreams for him come true on Sunday!
