Oddly Appealing: Adam Lambert's Blue-Tipped HairUsually when I think "blue hair," I think Marge Simpson. But at the MTV Europe Awards Adam Lambert kinda made it look...hot. I love that it's just the tips. And that the rest of his hair is Elvis Presley black. And that it's such a brilliant shade of blue. I just find myself gravitating towards this in some inexplicable way. Not that I'd suggest any man in the world but Adam go for it. But, clearly, between this and Johnny Depp's ombre manicure, I'm having a men-in-blue moment. Am I alone here? ...

There have been so many de-lurking in the past 24 hours that it's hard to keep up with everyone! To Oceanarose, a belated:

Could someone please tell me what M4A means? Thanks. it is an ITunes format. To burn to dvd you would need to convert. But you can watch it in Itunes without converting. Thanks. But can I put it on my iPod as an mp4 or will it not work?

I’ve read some of the coverage on last night’s EMA show and even though Gaga gets most of the mentions I am thrilled, and this is not sour grapes, that Adam is not a freak. He may fly his freak flag sometimes but it’s always about the song and the voice. I can appreciate Gaga sometimes and I loved Bad Romance and Poker Face but that doesn’t mean I want the person whose talent and charisma I deeply admire to be like her, no matter how much attention it would garner. Just like Gaga, Adam is one of a kind and does not need to emulate anyone else in order to attract attention. It may take longer but I also feel it will last longer. His #realness tweet thrilled me. you say freak like it's a bad thing? Gaga is ecentric, who I think has an artists heart and is a genuine free spirit living her truth, even if it seems a bit disingenuous to those of us on the outside. There are plenty of people who view Adam as a freak so I'd never say freak like it's a insult. Being a freak to me means daring to be different in spite of others telling you how stupid, wrong, ridiculous you are. Gaga and Adam both embrace their inner (and outter) freak and I for one am thrilled to witness it. So many times I have read the same type of comments about Adam at other places that I read about Gaga here. You could literally interchange Adam's and Gaga's name on many of the comments. Gaga, like Adam, has the talent to back up her eccentric choices. If she didn't have the artistic vision, musical and vocal talent, and songwriting skills- she would be all show and no substance. The same thing can be said about Adam! Adam and Gaga are both the type of artists that garner both extreme devotion and many times extreme aversion. They aren't artists that are boring. People tend to have opinions on them in one way or the other, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

And that's why I generally don't freak when I see comments knokcing him or articles being snide about him--artists that are unique bring out the haters. It should be a badge of honor. And as much as Gaga annoys me this era, I can't deny the bitch is talented. Cray cray, but talented. And yes--extreme devotion or aversion. Yep. That's the kinda stuff that makes stars/legends imo. I'd be more worried if everyone was all "Meh, he's cool." and had no further thoughts on the matter.

I'm exhausted! Berting is strenuous! And we're just warming up...
A few comments... I'm nodding my head at all those talking about their lack of productivity the last few days. Yikes. I'm glad I worked Saturday so that I got off my butt and out of the house. And back to work tomorrow -- good. But it's been great, amazing.
Like a few others here, I felt a slight bit of disappointment at the lack of Adam mentions in the news, but I was glad and a little chastened to read the opinions of Chunkey and others regarding how incredibly special and right it was for Adam to simply be introduced with Roger and Brian as Queen. That makes so much sense. And I did get a text message from one friend impressed with all the Adam accolades she was seeing on twitter. So yay!!!
I was holding on to a grudge against Hicklin (and that is so not my usual style), but he has pretty much redeemed himself with this interview and his comments. Not that he's become my favorite person or anything, but his willingness to learn and acknowledge mistakes on his part certainly raised my opinion of him.
That was a very nice interview with Adam. Love it when he speaks so openly. But the (tiny, haha) part of me that is a whiny little shit is still disappointed at the probability that we won't hear any of the angsty, darker stuff on his album. I was very aware that he had to be going through a major transition after the tour and the non-stop action of the last two years, and I kind of wanted to hear some of that. I am glad he spoke about it in the interview, tho. And I am glad that things are going so amazingly well for him in all aspects of his life. But I just find the idea of the darker stuff interesting. Maybe there will be a little on the album to balance things out. In spite of all of that, I'm beyond excited for the single, and the album.
And it was probably a joke, but...Sauli in the band?? I hope not!! Sounds like a bad idea to me! Although who knows -- if Adam wants to do that, I won't object, lol.
What a thrilling, satisfying experience the last few days have been! I don't go back to MJs very often anymore, but I had to go check out the response this weekend (feeling slightly petty, but whatever...), and it just seems so damn obvious that, as we all knew would be the case, Adam will be BY FAR the biggest star to have come off of that show. There will always be detractors, but it really doesn't matter.
*Happy sigh*
