As I sat with my granddaughter watching the EMAs last night - I thought how truly "small" our world has become. I, in the over 60 generation, sitting with my pre-teen granddaughter in Kentucky, USA watching the European Music Awards from Belfast, Ireland with American teenie boopers, old school European world class rock musicians and International singing sensation AFL sharing the same stage. Viewing it all on a 60" flat screen with surround sound but with Spanish and English commercials that we understood. What wonderment and awe it all was for these two generations to be able to share and appreciate not only each others worlds, but the world at large. And we never would have had the experience, thought to find the channels or take the time if it weren't for Adam. Yes, he is conquering the world in some ways he will never understand. THIS... ^^^ My DD and I watched it... (I did the stream first .. ;D) together.. with popcorn.. it was so (hard time wrapping our heads around it) cool... Our commericals in Spanish it totally made us laugh.. Besides having Adam on my TV again.. it was a really great night.. :-*Thank you Adam..see what you made my DD and I do.. spend some really quality time together... pssss. My DD doesn't like Adams hair either.. but, totally agrees that Adam looked very trendy and European etc...

Rumor has it a bash will be thrown in Adam's honor next week at Skylight Soho. Do you know what this mean? This means Adam will be in NYC next week. Do you know that THAT means? That means PROMO ETA: I saw that the party is probably in honor of all Out 100 honorees, but that is beside the point. If Adam has plans to attend it, it means he'll be in NYC. And if he is in NYC, that means.... promoooooo!

I think it needs to be said that Gene - Adam doesn't really have a rock voice - Simmons must now also EAT THE CUPCAKE! (Mika was right. That is an awesome all purpose phrase). While I thoroughly dislike Gene Simmons, in all fairness, I have to quote his second statement, when he was pushed to explain what he meant: “Adam is a great singer. He would be great in Queen. Like Freddie Mercury. But Mercury wouldn’t work in the Stones or KISS. Nor would Mick Jagger work in Queen. Got it?” I've always thought Simmons' real problem was homophobia. The night of the finale, when he was interviewed and asked about Adam, he gave a stock answer (paraphrasing, but I think I'm close) He's a powerful and attractive man. I doubt he had been watching Idol much, so he probably didn't know much about the contestants. Then he finds out that he called a gay man "attractive".

Didn't Freddie record TSMGO just 6 weeks before he passed? Seems like a pretty clear message to me - a wish and permission at the same time.

Did we have this here already ? starlounge.ie.msn.com/gallery.aspx?cp-documentid=159705429&ocid=tweetStarlounge Inside Celebrity News Former 'American Idol' star Adam Lambert, who performed with rock band Queen, revealed he loves dressing up for the red carpet. "I love gettng dressing up. It's one of my favorite hobbies," he told Starlounge. I'm wearing Alexander McQueen." The singer was in Belfast on his own. His boyfriend, Finnish Big Brother winner Sauli Koskinen, was at their home in West Hollywood. "We've been together for a year as of today. It's our anniversary. He had to stay home but I'm planning a night out for him". --- At their home...

Where are our happy tears? I really believe Adam when he said Freddie's spirit was up there with them on stage. I know I could hardly breathe...there was a beautiful energy up on that stage. I think Freddie would have been honored, too! YES!!! ITA. Also what's incredibly poignant is the story behind the song and I don't think anyone would argue for a minute that May, Taylor and Adam chose it randomly. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Show_Must_Go_On_%28Queen_song%29Recap for anyone who missed it amid the flail of last couple of days: "The Show Must Go On" is a song by English rock band Queen, featured as the twelfth and final track on their 1991 album Innuendo. It is credited to Queen, but written primarily by Brian May. The song chronicles the effort of Freddie Mercury continuing to perform despite approaching the end of his life.[1] Mercury was so ill and could barely walk when the band recorded the song in 1990, that May had concerns as to whether he was physically capable of singing it.[2] Recalling Mercury's performance, May states; "he went in and killed it, completely lacerated that vocal".[2]
It was released as a single in the United Kingdom on 14 October 1991 in promotion for the Greatest Hits II album, just six weeks before Mercury died. Following Mercury's death in November 1991, the song re-entered the British charts and spent as many weeks in the top 75 (five) as it did upon its original release, initially reaching a peak of 16. A live version with Elton John on vocals appeared on Queen's Greatest Hits III album. (Read more) The very point of Brian May writing the song for Freddie, it being one of the last he ever recorded and the last song on the last album released with Freddie, is clear in its message. The parallels of confronting the end of ones life like the curtain coming down on a performance. The cast may change, but life (the show) marches on. Brian, Roger and Adam paid a beautiful homage to Freddie and that song – which he never performed live – last night. And having it be from a young "disciple" of Freddie's, who shares a lot of similar struggles, it really is a profound analogy; too bad so many people who loved Freddie can't see that.
