I'm the last person in the world who will leave this fandom, I NEVER angst, NEVER. I'm saying this because I want to comment on your post.
Gaga and Madonna were already big stars when they did 2 years break. HUGE difference IMO when you already established a great fan base, so I can totally understand, although I don't feel this way, the people who are worried, not because they are not going to listen to new music, but because they're worried for Adam if his new album will be a smash hit.
Just a comment, I repeat everyone who knows me, knows that I will wait for ever.

www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00045107.htmlAdam Lambert Apologizes to Fans for Delaying His New Single Again i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l597/gelly414/ATOP/adam-lambert-mtv-europe-music-awards-2011-02.jpgAdam Lambert is sorry for having to postpone the release of his new single. The "Sleepwalker" singer posted his apology when announcing the delay on Twitter. The Grammy-nominated musician cited "some unforeseen logistics, legal annoyances and creative details" as the reason of the pushback. "Dear amazing fans; I f**king love you!!! ," he began. "I want to apologize for claiming November as the release month. I spoke too soon. I had a great meeting in London yesterday and continue to take the time to ensure the song is its BEST and that the whole album and campaign is a unified artistic extension of my spirit." Read more... Ha, ha, ha!! Adam gets more news for NOT putting out his album, then some artists get for actually putting out their album!! IKR? And see all the articles that Lulu posted after me!!!

Here's my take on the delay 1) the "sound" of the album has only truly come together in the last two months, post the Pharrel /new direction sessions he had in the late summer 2) it has been a challenge marrying the first half recordings with the second, and getting the single right so that it reflects the album as a whole ("creative details") 3) the "unified global campaign" could only really kick off now that they know the style/ product ie upbeat and dancy versus moody and dark, funky versus NIN) All this has taken time and they are running into the brick wall of December. Plus they all want to get this right. Especially Adam as he has to live with these 18 tracks for the next two years. *nods* yeah, I pretty much agree with this as well. Well, it is what it is, moving on, and signs are good that the music is good, which to me is the MAIN issue.

This would be awesome and full of all kinds of win and also be a very good reason why Adam has had to be secretive. SONY just signed the deal with Luke! And Adam fits Luke's music perfectly! Also, I do not see the album in April. I see the single beginning of Feb. and album in March, 6 weeks later. I am going with the first quarter of 2012 for the album, like the boss man said. I am surprisingly zen about the dates. I just worry about Adam and hope he is fine with all this. He seems so happy, but we know he hides negative things well. This would, IMO, be disastrous for Adam and his musical career. Dr. Luke is very much a control freak and not above throwing an artist under the bus if he doesn't get his way. He did this with Kelly Clarkson back during the My December era. Dr. Luke is who first leaked the gossip that Clive was unhappy with the album which in turn started a firestorm of controversy. His reason behind this move? Kelly had taken his advise and used one producer on her third album, problem was, he wasn't the producer she used and he was bitter about it. He also talked shit about her singles during Breakaway, wanting the songs he'd produced released first as singles. I hope and pray this isn't what is delaying this era and I honestly can't see that being the case. RCA has put a lot of time, money and effort into promoting Adam and it's highly unlikely they just let him be scooped up by an untested/unestablished label and possibly flush all that investment down the drain.

Somehow I am not devastated by the news of the delay. There is a silver lining- two, in fact: 1) No December freeze to interfere with his skyrocketing trajectory. 2) The hairstyle will have changed before he does his promo appearances.
[/b] LOL. Be careful what you ask for. ;D ;D

Hi gelly, I really appreciate people who are worried because Adam is not established, and they are scared his fanbase will dminish. I must admit im worried if he doesnt have the songs that showcase his talent on his new album - thats why i want him to take his time (to a point). I want his stuff to go to number one! The people i dont get so much are those who are bored and want more stimulation from adam and want it now and then put pressure on him by acting like he's let them down somehow. that "aww you promised!" attitude. promises are made to be broken in the creative world cos the muse is fickle. She doesnt give under pressure. It would make his album worse if he allowd those people to pressure him

Speaking of fan base: I have been a member of at least 10 different fan sites since April 2009, and I now frequent 3 on a daily basis and check into 3 others on a weekly basis. The others are pretty much defunct. The fan base will shrink with all the delays and no appearances/interviews but those of use who are truly dedicated to helping Adam Lambert achieve his full potential will be with him all the way - come hell or high water. It hasn't even been 2 years since Adam's debut. I don't get all this talk about how these delays are going to cost Adam fans and put his career in peril. Artists shed and gain fans every day. Adam hasn't disappeared, in fact I'd dare say he's more visible than 90% of musical artists. In the six months we've gotten BTM, Project Runway, Russian concert, Majors and Minors, and EMAs. And all along the way Adam has been gaining fans as evidenced by his increasing twitter numbers. The reality is very few fans are "come hell or high water" type fans and they aren't the fans who sustain an artists career anyway. The diehards are fringe fans, it's the casual fans who make or break an artists' career. So while we know all about the delays because Adam keeps up informed (which btw, also goes a long way in maining the connection to his fans because he's invested enough to communicate with them which in turn keeps them invested as well) the casual fan will hear Adam's new music when it comes out, remember that they like his voice/songs and buy either the entire album or just the single or both.

This is not necessarily the case. It depends on what the artist does in the interim, what music they produce., and what binds the community together. In the end, it will all be about the music. If Adam has found away to combine his unique vocal talent and contemporary dance music, and the music is as good as the buzz coming out of the UK, the hiatus will not matter. ----------- I have not read the thread entirely BUT just want to say it is interesting that they are doing two pieces of foundational work prior to releasing this new music --- 1. A full-frontal assault on the Gay community. 2. The listening tour in the UK to give them the first listen to this music -- then to NY. Most US artists do NY first. I think we are in for massive promotion this cycle.
