Here's my take on the delay 1) the "sound" of the album has only truly come together in the last two months, post the Pharrel /new direction sessions he had in the late summer 2) it has been a challenge marrying the first half recordings with the second, and getting the single right so that it reflects the album as a whole ("creative details") 3) the "unified global campaign" could only really kick off now that they know the style/ product ie upbeat and dancy versus moody and dark, funky versus NIN) All this has taken time and they are running into the brick wall of December. Plus they all want to get this right. Especially Adam as he has to live with these 18 tracks for the next two years.
I think there were two secondary considerations also. Firstly they collectively do not believe the delay will harm him....he continues to stay in the eye of the media and if anything this weekend reinforced that. And secondly the delay will give them time to deal with Welsford....I just don't think that is the driving issue or that there is any issue with RCAs recordings in that regard.
Interesting that this decision seems to have been made in London....guess that's what a global release does for you.

I love how Adam says he loves us first and then proceeds to tell us the single is delayed. Sweetening the bad news as always. I have to say although I'm a little disapointed that we have to wait longer for the single, I have learned the hard way in the last few years to be patient when it comes to getting new music by my favorite artitsts. Believe me, the wait for Adam2 has been sort of easy compared to other experiences. Haven't read Sauli's blog (I'm waiting for the translation) but how sweet is Adam? I wish someone would do that for me!

This is one of my favorite pics because of the hilarious contrast between Adam and Brian. Adam is doing his SRS I'm-a-motherfuckin-beast-HBIC snarly-faced look.... And there's Brian in the background, with that cloud of white angel hair, and this sweet, blissed-out expression on his face = I think his eyes are even partially closed... And I'm sure he's thinking: "THIS!!! THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR FOR 20 YEARS SINCE FREDDIE DIED." Well, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. ;D

My heart almost sink to the bottom of the ocean for the delay. It is just difficult after the Queen epic EMA moment, I don't think Adam expect that at all. I hope he does not take it too hard. Well I feel much better after drowning myself with "The show must go on". Thanks for all the links provided. I am so low tech that I don't even know where to find the downloaded file after a few try. But it's OK now. Adam is so worth for the wait let's watch this again

"I want to apologize for claiming November as the release month. I spoke too soon. I had a great meeting in London yesterday and continue to take the time to ensure the song is its BEST and that the whole album and campaign is a unified artistic extension of my spirit."
