Hi all! Can't stop listening to the Queen Medley--EPIC is the only word to describe it. When I was watching on Sunday, I had stomach butterflies too, and then he started singing (I had the livestream on) and was beside myself with how great he sounded and looked. His stage presence is amazing--that strut was better than the Feeling Good strut! He was so confident and humble at the same time. Just an all-around amazing person...yes, he needs to be in arenas--he thrives there. And yes, he will be ICONIC (Paula deserves more credit than she gets!). And for the people on youtube who don't get how amazing Adam's performance was, then I think they should give this a listen--remember when the Voice coaches attempted to sing a Queen medley? Oh, my. And these people get regular radio play. Just in case anyone really wants to know how hard it is to sing Queen songs and do them any justice! www.youtube.com/watch?v=yd4rLt6GQZgI had never actually attempted to listen to that. Oh my lord, that was barely adequate. Going to listen to Adam again just to get that out of my head. yep indeed, it's difficult to sing. Adam F. Lambert. did a wonderful job!!!

........and the dreaded red-eye strikes the mere mortal yet again Has anyone noticed - is it the same w/Sauli's eyes? His seem to be the identical color as Adam's. BTW, this picture is asking to be cropped!

........and the dreaded red-eye strikes the mere mortal yet again I can't remember, has anyone ever actually explained that preternatural phenomena? If it is not explainable, I will just go with Glittery Alien from Planet Fierce.

I haven't heard AFL on my local radio station in awhile but I heard WWFM this morning. Probably due to the EMA effect but also confirming what Craazyforadam identified as AFL's strong recognition factor. It doesn't take long for someone to remember who he is once he flashes before their eyes.
My music store had both FYE and GNT stocked.
Just watched the EMA performance on my TV - only a slightly bigger screen than my PC but even that made a difference. Such a treat!

What was it that so entranced me about Adam's performance? I've been trying to find words for it. As an analogy, it was like all along we have been watching/listening to Adam sing on a standard TV with the crappy internal speakers. We were beyond impressed with the man. Didn't think he could get any better. Then, on Sunday with Queen, the broadcast was on HD. We viewed it on the top of the line, large screen HDTV, connected to a kick-ass, high end surround sound music system. Dialed to 10. It was like Adam found his internal rheostat and realized to this point, he hadn't turned it up to maximum overdrive, so that night, with those musicians, he decided to see just how high he could dial that sucker without blowing all the circuits. And discovered a whole new voice and powerful stage presence. It was like Adam traded in his sleek, sexy, black Mustang convertible, which he looked fabulous in, for a Ferrari, and raced across the universe at the speed of sound, stunning everyone who heard/saw him. It was like Adam found a new dimension previously unknown to science. It was sublime. Cassie, great analogy. I remember an interview with one of the producers he worked with on FYE saying that when Adam cranks it up he melts the speakers and I think the EMAs were a first hand glimpse of what he meant by that.
