From bridgeymahWith all the joy and flail around the tour ending I've neglected this thread a bit. Am loving all the diversity of music tastes that are showing up. We are an eclectic bunch - musically speaking! He's my latest addition Lara FabianShe is Belgian and a huge star in Europe but almost unknown outside - I have seen her compared to Celine Dion. From Wikipedia: Lara Fabian (born Lara Crokaert, January 9, 1970) is a Belgian-born international singer who also holds Canadian citizenship. Multilingual, she sings in French, Italian, Spanish, and English, in all of which she is fluent.[citation needed] She has also sung in Portuguese, and once in Hebrew on Israel's 60th Independence Day celebrations and in German in 1988 for a version of "Croire" (ger.: "glaub" eng.: "believe"), although she speaks neither language fluently. She also speaks a little Dutch (Flemish). She has sold over 18 million records worldwide so far. She is a mezzo-soprano with a two octaves and a sixth vocal range — from G (G3) below middle C (C4) to soprano high F (F6). She can belt to tenor high F (F5).[1][2] ********* She is the one I would love to hear Adam duet with - their voices have a similar range and power. I have both her english language albums and a couple of her french language albums. Here are a few examples. Enjoy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1i7pevupAM&feature=relatedwww.youtube.com/watch?v=3YWfThqkG3E&feature=relatedwww.youtube.com/watch?v=bTDrzy7RM7Q&feature=related

From NoAngelOh wow, what a treasure trove of a thread!!!!!!!!!!!! Just took a quick peek, and I can tell I'll be spending lots of time here over the coming "quiet" times. Just wanted to share a couple of songs by an incredible U.K. singer-- Clare Maguire. Her debut album comes out next year. I was introduced to her music by Sunn (@draddee on Twitter). And y'all should know, I'm fond of angsty stuff... :D Gorgeous, haunting song and lovely video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2peghEih74And her cover of the Antony and the Johnson's song "Hope There's Someone" set to the powerful photography of Jim Goldberg: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeDVOBSvZAc

From sugareeNow for an old timer trying something new. I never "got" Tom Jones. Really liked some of his music, but never found him sexy. Anyway, someone pointed me to this video a while back. Tom put out a gospel album (I've never cared for gospel music either). That being said, this is hot! From his appearance on Letterman in September. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxtU64JV0WQ

From jamieYou sent me on a trip down memory lane and I found this article on the Boulder, CO music scene. I feel really lucky to have spent time in such a beautiful place and as a bonus got to see a lot of really great music. For a small city there was an amazing amount of diverse quality music everywhere you went. My first night freshman year I didn't know anyone but was introduced to a cousin I had never met and we hit the town not knowing anything and stumbled into a bar Big Head Todd and the Monsters were playing. We totally fell in love with Todd like everyone else and went back there most Tuesday nights until they outgrew the place. They sang all covers at first but great really original ones like beautiful version of Dire Straight's Romeo and Juliet and a sped up version of Mona Lisa, you could tell they were a special trio. Then about three years later they had an album release party and were so proud they didn't play any covers. We saw him at the famous Red Rocks amphitheater have a jam off with Buddy Guy and he totally held his own and the place went nuts. They were real hometown heroes and everyone was rooting for them. They hit it big with a platinum Album a couple years after I left Boulder and at the apex of their fame I was going to see them in Chicago and called my old friend from Boulder to tell him. Ten minutes later he calls back saying Todd would be leaving VIP passes for me and my friends and to come say hi after the show. I was floored, I wasn't THAT close with them more friends of friends but they acted like we were long lost besties. They were so sweet. Here's an Adam tangent song(random fact, someone posted a picture of Adam's name on the marque in Portland and BHTatM was on there too playing the next night) it doesn't show off his voice but you can see how great he is on guitar. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUURm0IVPLA&feature=relatedThe other band I was closer to, Leftover Salmon. They were a rock/bluegrass/country/cajun band and when you saw them play you new you were in for a late night of dancing your ass off. They used to play at this old inn about 45 minutes up the mountains and would invite everyone to sleep at the abandoned school house they lived in so they wouldn't have to drive down the mountain in the middle of the night. They were crazy but lots of fun. About 10 years after I last saw them, I saw that they were playing around the corner from my house in Chicago and made my friends go. It was a fun little reunion, the whole band and crew came back to my house after the show until the beer ran out. We then moved to their tour bus and they were still as insane and funny as I remembered them. Sadly the banjo player died shortly after from cancer. He was a sweet soul. Here's them playing a more traditional bluegrass song www.youtube.com/watch?v=jczDbsMZzWcFunny when looking up these videos I was thinking wow Todd and Vince got old, then I remembered ... so did I.

From sugareeWow Jamie. I'm officially a Big Head Todd fan now. This is gorgeous. I thought it was a Van Morrison song (sounds like something from Astral Weeks). Did he write this? www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u6OYg4TmrQ

From jamieYes Todd wrote this and most all their songs. Yeah I can see a little Van Morrison now that you mention it, I always heard a lot of comparisons to Stevie Ray Vaughn. That song was all over the radio for a while about....18 years ago. mika I haven't listend to music for about 8 years so I have a black hole in my brain for anything even semi current so I'm enjoying your picks. I'm a big fan of covers too, sent you a pm. So... to keep this thread going I'll toss out an old favorite (who am I kidding, all my favorites are at least relatively old  ) that I would love to hear Adam sing. Nina is another one of those singers who I love anything she chose to sing. I love how primal this song is and can totally imagine Adam taking it to church. That is if he could get over that fact that it IS actually a church song. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn5tiuZU4JI&feature=related
