I know you warned me. And, my expectations for Durbin have been low every since seeing him on Idol. But, O. M. G. This is bad in so many different ways, starting with his introduction that I heard while looking away from the computer and thought was a little child. Nope, Durbin. Vocally, yeah, you don't need me to tell you this sucked, even if you are a fan of metal. The song itself is supposed to be an anthem about bullying? The first two lines say "My parents told me it would get better. LIARS!" Yeah, that's a great message for kids who feel like outsiders . The song doesn't improve from there. Even the backing guitar was out of tune. Gonna go watch me some vintage Adam singing live on TV when HIS songs first came out. Need to erase Durbin's performance from all memory. |

Don't throw tomatoes at me (hides for cover) but I really love Adam's vocals in this song. I didn't buy it (the single or album) but there is something in his voice in this demo song that tugs at my heart... maybe because when he recorded this he was desperate for somebody to recognize his talent but nobody wants to take a chance in signing him ... just a demo for their songs... Plus it's November! Oh, gabby, you really are jonesing for a hit of new Adam music, aren't you? Actually, Adam did not disguise his voice as much for this song as some of the others. In them, his voice sounds much darker. This song still has some of the light brightness that is Adam. For most of the song, Adam follows the rules and sings it as directed. "Cut out the vibrato. Clip the end of the final notes in the phrase. Don't sing the whole phrase in one breath. The singers we are trying to sell to can't do that. Chop it up. Just a couple of notes, then, another breath. No going off the melody and adding riffs, especially ones that go higher than the melody. The guy we are pitching this to can't do that." Then, towards the end, his rebel comes out. Or maybe he was just bored. hahaha. He makes the song more his own for a brief time. If I were guessing, I would bet that this was not the take they used to demo the song. He probably was required to redo it, but this one remained in the vault, to be pulled out after Adam made it big. I don't know who he was told to imitate. Probably would not recognize the name anyway. But, some of the other songs from the session sound a bit like Kris Kristopherson to me. Ironic that one of the most distinctive, beautiful, amazing voices was asked to sound like someone else. gabby, maybe this will tide you over. |

Q. can anyone tell me where (what program) to use for making gifs from video. I have googled but asking because I have more trust in something of people here have used it without getting a virus and such. I need it to do a gif for work. Anyway, if someone can point me in the right direction much appreciated:-)

Sauli is such a gift to Adam and SUCH A gift to US!!! It's wonderful to get these little peeks into their life without it feeling creepy. Adam is the real gift. I think Sauli is probably the luckiest guy alive. |
