While driving around today Aerosmith's Cryin' came on my radio. Don't remember hearing it since it first came out. What can I say? It is not Adam Lambert. We joke around about Adam breaking Idol, or Adam spoiling us for other pop/rock singers, but, for many of us there is some truth in the jokes. While listening to Aerosmith's version I realized that BGNAFL (before Grammy Nominated Adam Fuckin' Lambert) I never paid much attention to the vocals in pop/rock. With rare exceptions, the vocals were just there, a part of the song, but not remarkable in any way. I also never expected them to be anything other than that. It was the overall sound, the beat, and the lyrics that either attracted me or didn't. The songs could have been sung by any number of different people, and as long as they stayed on pitch, it didn't matter. While I expected to hear great vocals in classical, musical theater, and jazz, I didn't associate them with pop/rock. All that changed upon hearing GNAFL. My eyes and ears were opened. "Oh. oh. Listen to that voice!" How a great voice and masterful interpretative ability enhances a pop/rock sound. Before GNAFL, it just played in the background to accompany my driving and errand-running. Ubiquitous, somewhat banal at times, and rather mindless for much of the time. After Adam, I naturally pay attention to the vocals, and..... well, yeah, Adam pretty much ruined most others for me. What was once perfectly acceptable background music to my daily routine now fails to satisfy. After a few songs, I am back to my iPod to play something Adam for the 10,000th time. Can't wait to add new music to the iPod.

This pic of Sauli and Adam, I won't post it again cause it's alreay on this page twice, but OMG they look so great together, and so happy and so into one another, it just melts my heart, as many have already said or thought. And to be able to go to this kind of party, with kindred spirits, celebrities all, must be so fun and also validating, and bring a feeling of power. Straight people go anywhere they want, show affection to their loved one at any time they want, with no thought of what others might say or think about their displays of affection. Gay people do not have the same freedom to do that in all situations. It must be a great and liberating feeling to be in this group of people. Not really expressing myself well here, hope yall know what I'm feeling. I think you expressed yourself beautifully! Since becoming an Adam fan, I've been more aware of gay rights (although always supported them, of course), and whenever I see or hear someone say, "They can be gay if they want, but why do they have to flaunt it? I don't go around announcing that I'm straight!", I want to respond, "Well, imagine if being gay was considered the norm, and being straight was frowned upon. What would your life be like?" Most of us, as straight people, just take for granted that we can grab our loved one's hand in public, and talk casually about "my boyfriend" or "my husband." What if we couldn't? I don't know what the future holds for Adam and Sauli's relationship, but when I look at pictures of them smiling at each other and glowing with love, it infuriates me that at this point they can't consider getting married. I hope with all my heart that that situation changes very soon for the entire country. Marriage discrimination needs to be declared unconstitutional so that no state can deny gays the right to marry.

In that OUT video....difficult to hear, but did Adam say he'd have a new single "coming out right around the New Year". Squee! Album "March"....
You have to go back and re-listen a few times to catch everything!
also, about the red lipstick and "artistic liberties"..haha! "They keep trying to make me a Drag Queen....ain't gonna happen!"
I LOVE HIM
modified cuz I see that Sauli's hair is still silver/platinum...must have been the light in the other photos, thought he was going more yellow-blonde.
