I agree: needs to be gone because I don't like it - sort of Bruno Mars thing as sung in the YT... and if it is the template for the first single will really need some Adamizing, Stat! I won't put this out on twitter, just sharing my thought here among friends... I actually love it. But it needs to be Adam's song, not Claude's when it is premiered! I love it too. I love the melody, the lyrics , I can listen to Adam singing it perfectly and I think it's EASY to sing along. I can see people dancing with it and it's VERY radio friendly IMO. :D

Does anyone remember when Adam tweeted out some of the lyrics from Better Than I Know Myself? I think it was one of the twitter parties. It seems like maybe that was always to be the lead single then. Or maybe he was pushing for Trespassing first and there was some back and forth. Maybe all the delays were to get all these promo ducks in a row and we'll get a Rockin' New Year's Eve debut. Maybe I'm just avoiding cleaning my house!

Canadian lurker here. I am on the map but in the wrong spot. My flag is in the middle of Saskatchewan. I actually live in Guelph, Ontario, not too far from Toronto. Just wanted to say I love the title Trespassing. Can't wait to hear the album and I'm also excited to see Adam on the AMA's tomorrow. OK, back to lurking. Glad you de-lurked.

It was in a recent twitter party and this is what I remember he tweeted "all along, i tried to pretend it didn't matter if i was alone" YEP that was it. I agree. It's been two years and by virtue of the fact they're now playing it as, "But we love him and always have ..." Those of us who know better and who HAVE been holding them accountable for two years can be the bigger people (like Adam) and say," ICU ... You're not fooling us, but we can let this one go. They were the ones who look like the fools in the long run (and the short-term, IMO). Expecting them to do a huge mea culpa would only dredge up the issue again. I expect they might do a very small throwaway line during the presentation banter w a wink and a smile. I want Adam everywhere during era two. This frees him up substantially for tons of high-profile performances. If he can let it go, I can. I've said my piece to them on more than a few occasions and for any real progress to be made sometimes we have to accept a conciliatory gesture and move on. Also, I very much believe the initial rumors were true about him performing: the single is going to explode! (Which is also why the secrecy.) But when the single was delayed again, that had to be switched and Daughtry was plugged in. Daughtry was not announced until after Adam said the single was not coming out in November. They've known his album drop dates for months, so why wouldn't have they announced him ages ago if it wasn't a last-minute switch? Glad they are having him as a presenter and next year, Watch out!!! ITA. Now is the time to move on and I'll accept the re-writing of history. One day, a long time off, when Adam's first biography gets written, this can all be written up with all the drama. In that context THEN it will be useful to write it up correctly, to show what hurdles Adam had to overcome to make it as a star. But in this context right NOW, with some major 'Trespassing' upon us, it's our job to be just be all smiles, who says the Glamberts cannot be pros when it comes to helping Adam's career - so lets play the game just like everyone else is doing. I don't believe that Larry Klein is believing his own story, yet he tells it that way because that is how he wants it to be. End of story. Those are the things where artistic influence, artistic relevance and artistic skill make the difference. For an artist with a clearly major 2012 album who is on its way up, history gets the re-write as seemed fit. When an artist is on his or her way down and out, the re-write does not happen and the exit becomes accelerated. Its a rough business and I can see how from the artist perspective it must be so difficult when for years they are on a high and everything goes their way and then all of a sudden those same doors close shut. No wonder so many artists cannot handle the ride, their own behavior may be totally the same and yet get judged completely differently, depending whether they are considered good for ratings and modern appeal or not. Re: Single - BTIKM: I love what I heard - it has potential. Agree that this will sound totally differently when coming from Adam. I just wish that he had checked for existing demo versions and taken them down before Adam tweeted the title. For those who doubt this song can be so much better in Adam's hands, just remember what Gaga sounded like singing Fever. We all loved the song once it was in Adam's hands. The song will be fine, its this demo leak that is a bit troubling. But yeap, the cat is out of the bag now, I guess. I think it can do fine on radio in EU. WWFM was fine there and I agree, this sounds like WWFM's son. And in UK, where it was not the first single and as second one did not make it anymore, they have now got a completely different level of buy-in at least from some stations. We'll have to wait and see a bit on Radio 1. Still holding my breath there, but obviously, this title will be easier to win them over than a more out-there song. Now how do I get these squeeky demo vocals out of my ear? -lol just saw the official pontification by DCP of the latest party-line: Incredible performance of 2009 ;D ;D ;D

Gotta go with Team "Nothing Wrong About a Huge Commercial Hit". (Knock wood, of course.)
Played the demo twice and I can't stop singing it. Imagine it beautifully done by a man who can really sing.
WWFM was a buried treasure brought to life. Good template.
If that demo really is the single, I'm on board. It's so accessible and approachable and easy for people who actually like to listen to radio to "get" the first time they hear it.
In the tangle that is the music industry, Money equals both freedom and capture. Have big hits, get to do more things. But mostly they want you to do the same thing again and again.
But for Adam, any big time commercials hits, IMHO, and knock wood they happen, will only create more freedom. A man who can really sing needs the freedom to do that. Having hits invites more people to sample the real singing on the rest of the album. And feel what they've been missing.

*looks out the window* Nope, no apocalypse happening. No pigs in the sky either. Can't really check if Hell has indeed frozen over but since it's so cold here I'm gonna go with yes. Part of me is kind of mad at them for the hypocrisy the other part is doing this: #rotfl# First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win...

But the general public shouldn't be so quick to condone bigotry. And we are the public, not Adam's extensions (as hard as it is to believe ).
