I have to say I am very disappointed that BTIKM is the first single. I was really hoping that it would be something new and exciting with lyrics written by Adam and with a great rhythmic drum line. I realize that this will sound much different with Adam's voice but it still sounds like every other song I hear on the radio. If their goal was to find another WWFM, I guess they succeeded. WWFM was one of my least favorite songs on FYE and I still skip over it when listening to it. I want Adam to shake up the radio world, not add to it's mediocrity. , I agree with every single word in your post. But I am sure that Adam's version will be adamized enough to become an ear candy. And since the goal is for the radio to play - I will go with the opinion that this song has a chance of charting high. The fact that I don't like it is a great predictor in itself  I would've liked the lead song to be Adam's song, so he can establish himself as a songwriter (given that for some crazy reason it is important for the cred) and of course the $s are better. Not to mention that the songs he wrote on the FYE have deeper meaning and beauty and complexity. Hoping that the second/third/etc singles will all be songs written by Adam....[/size]  |

Hi, absolute excited for the news!!!, i like the song, not much in Claude Kelly voice, like you said, sound Bruno like, in my country we dont get Bruno very much, here the radios are ALL f**cking raegetton and uptempos electro pop ( still some rock too), but like most of you say, Adam probably make some changes and put in BTIKMS his own "touch" and make this song a one for melted ours hearts and maybe shake ours littles asses. I'm not sure that Adam knows how to write a hooky pop song yet. Don't get me wrong, I really like Voodoo and DTRH and Broken Open, but they're great, arty songs that I didn't think would work on radio at all. If Adam has good songwriters and can still write his stuff to put on the album, that's great. I honestly don't think less of the other songs he sings. I mean, his fans go crazy over "Soaked" and that's Muse, so I don't subscribe a value judgement to his talent or cred that way.
Look at Rihanna and her billion writers. She has a good ear. I really like "We Found Love" - someone on this board said her voice sounds "electronic" or something? I agree, she has a weird, metallic voice that works on some songs and is really weird, but it's distinctive.

Ok I think the Claude Kelly version is very very ear wormy, I just hope for a few things if it is indeed the first single and the fact he deleted those tweets didn't mean anything lol. I hope that the production is more updated. I like the piano but not a huge fan of the SHUKA SHUKA sound. Hopefully it sounds more 2011 then 2009. I also hope that they added a bridge or something, because at the end it just kinda....I dunno....keeps on going on and there is a big gap where it's just the piano and it kinda stalls out before it launches back into the chorus. I am thinking it needs some sort of bridge so the last chorus' are kind of the bookmark to the song... does that make sense? And like others have said on Twitter and such--the demops for Fever and Sleepwalker were totally different so, why do we think this one won't be any different? TOTALLY agree with you on all three accounts: - really ear-worm-y. Loved it ever since I heard it the first time a couple of months ago when Adam tweeted lyrics. - would greatly benefit from a bridge - hope the production is updated. I LOVE pop and Top 40 and I listen to it all the time, so I'd like to think I can tell a top 40-friendly song when I hear one. This is definitely it. Now it just needs Adam's spin and a great push to radio, which I'm sure it will have. Man, this era is gonna be HUUUUUUUUUUUUGEEEEEEE!!! |

Well, even tho a lot pf ppl want an Adam written song as first single, if he ended up writing a bridge or contributing to some lyrical or melodic changes he should get a co write no? So it's not all bad...
I really don't think the finished product is gonna be some carbon copy. The UK twitter dude called it a "killer" mid tempo and he has some hit making producers working with him...I am very optimistic.
Plus I thin the demo, as rough as it is--WHICH IT'S ALLOWED TO BE BC IT'S A DEMO LMAO--still has a very ear wormy chorus. It totally sticks in your head and u find yourself singing it hours later....to me that's a hook. I mean I am not musical expert, so I could be totally off base about what exactly a hook truly is lmaoo, but to me personally that damn chorus a hook. It's simple, it's easy to sing along with, it sticks in your head.....ba da bing!

With all the good news of the last few days, I decided to delurk for a while. Just for you to have another mark in your beautiful map. I noticed the lack of adamtopians in Portugal!
