Is he a songwriter, DJ WHAT!!!! He is a DJ. I believe he is French. He has had some huuge records...not sure if he writes them or not but he frequently has all kinds of singers on his stuff.

All that being said, Beg for Mercy is an interesting album. It shows one of the avenues Lambert pursued in his long struggle to succeed as an artist. Ultimately, Lambert decided that the fit was not right, and changed directions. Still, the journey is worth listening to from a historical perspective. Also worth listening to from a musical perspective. Lambert, five years ago, already had the pipes, the range and the passion he is known for. This unfinished, fledgling work still sounds better than most rock music being touted and released today. But, Beg For Mercy ain't all that bad, as the historical document, while we wait. If you are looking for something rather raw sounding, with a hard rock edge and strong vocals, and you don't object to funding a recording Lambert doesn't want released, you may be interested in giving BFM a listen. Ugh, I'm with Lulu here. These two paragraphs make my blood boil & my stomach upset. We created a BFM thread didn't we? I see absolutely no reason why this should be part of today's thread. After all, today's daily news thread is labled "AMA's Red Carpet, Pre-Show and Show" . This does not seem to fit that title. This is the daily news thread and BFM releases this week. It is current news. The only thread that was created to isolate a conversation is a Monte thread. That is no longer Adam news. Regarding BFM -- my strong suggestion is to not worry about it. I think some fans are actually more concerned about it than Adam is. That said -- unless someone has some news to add to the BFM conversation -- I think this horse is dead.

BFM, won't outsell Daughtry. Most likely it won't sell much. But I do think the JD fans are in for a rude awakening! Their number projections have been pretty funny. Which is weird because the single sales and album pre-sales, on i-tunes, have been really low. ??? I totally agree about the choreography for the FYE performance on the AMAs. It was awful! Not meant for someone who is singing live. I hope BFM doesn't even sell enough to get noticed. It can be a teeny, tiny blip on the Adam radar. The industry and radio know about it now and they are sure not promoting it. I hope the asses who put this thing out get their head handed to them financially. This won't hurt Adam at all. And now, all the focus is on "Trespassing" and BTIKM. I think it was brilliant of Adam/TPTB to release this information right now. ETA- I just hate to see BFM praised-pimped- by anyone, fan or not. And hate to see anyone suggesting that people buy it. :-/

If you see his wiki page, he's not just another DJ. I'm not sayin that I love everything he does but I really like many of his songs. He's great in dance music. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Guetta

Lynne -- I agree with your assessment.
FYE -- is not certified Platinum although it might be close to shipping Platinum in the US -- it should be Platinum by Spring 2012 when Trespassing is released.
*******************
No need to worry about BFM selling much.........
BFM -- it releases tomorrow and is only #133 on Amazon's CD Album Best Seller list.
James Durbin -- is a shockingly low #66 (I expected him to do OK)
Daughtry -- #19 Deluxe/ #232 Regular

popaddicts.com/adam-lambert-readying-new-album-single-for-2012/Adam Lambert Readies New Album & Single for Early 20120 Posted In Pop by Adam Adam Lambert recently tweeted the title of his new album will be called Trespassing and that it will be released in Spring of 2012. Also, the first single titled “Better Than I Know Myself,” produced by Dr.Luke will be released very soon according to TheProphetBlog. I’m anticipating his new work because he is truly a standout in today’s pop crowd. Trespassing will be Adam’s sophomore release after his platinum debut album For Your Entertainment. Adam will also be presenting at the 2011 American Music Awards tonight, 8pm ET on ABC. LOL, he's squished; was this taken from under the bed? I'm loving seeing all these "previews" about BTIKM and "Trespassing." it really seems like these pop watchers have been paying attention and Adam has garnered respect along the way for daring to be himself and with the Idol era two years gone, it's more about a talented, gutsy and original artist on the horizon and it's something the industry needs. ITA, Cassie, Grenade was the first song I thought of when Chunkey posed the question. Really, most of Bruno's stuff seems to fall in that vein. I also thought of RITD and then Teenage Dream and Fucking Perfect. (Tho I don't know how to count beats.)
