This is the 2nd time I have seen FYE referred to as a Platinum album. When, and is it official?

All that being said, Beg for Mercy is an interesting album. It shows one of the avenues Lambert pursued in his long struggle to succeed as an artist. Ultimately, Lambert decided that the fit was not right, and changed directions. Still, the journey is worth listening to from a historical perspective. Also worth listening to from a musical perspective. Lambert, five years ago, already had the pipes, the range and the passion he is known for. This unfinished, fledgling work still sounds better than most rock music being touted and released today. But, Beg For Mercy ain't all that bad, as the historical document, while we wait. If you are looking for something rather raw sounding, with a hard rock edge and strong vocals, and you don't object to funding a recording Lambert doesn't want released, you may be interested in giving BFM a listen. Ugh, I'm with Lulu here. These two paragraphs make my blood boil & my stomach upset. We created a BFM thread didn't we? I see absolutely no reason why this should be part of today's thread. After all, today's daily news thread is labled "AMA's Red Carpet, Pre-Show and Show" . This does not seem to fit that title. ITA. It would be nice if we continued this discussion, although I didn't have the time to catch up yet, to the specific thread. JMO

I don't like this pimping of the album that Adam is not happy about, doesn't want released, not his musical vision or direction, and produced by people just wanting to make a buck, fuck! Sorry cassie and Q and everyone else that loves this review, you are pimping B4M, edited: I don't want to get modded out of here, no offense to anyone.......... Q3 comment: No one has ever been "modded out of here" for having an opinion. There have only been a few bannings in the history of this site -- in over a year.

www.allureofsound.com/?p=23503Adam Lambert has revealed the title of his highly anticipated second full-length album. Lambert made the announcement via his personal Twitter account: “My album is called TRESPASSING -dropping Spring 2012.” Lambert worked on the title track with Pharrell Williams from funk/hip-hop band N.E.R.D. In an interview with Out Magazine, Lambert spoke about Williams, “We had a really long conversation and it was interesting to get his perspective on where I was as a person and as an artist, because he’s someone that doesn’t know me—our lifestyles are very different—but he’s an incredible artist and a very intelligent guy and deep and spiritual as well.” Read more..

Most artists release the title of their albums and lead single well in advance --
Lady Gaga released album title BTW 5 months in advance, album cover on April 16 for May 23 release.
It is part of normal promo cycle.
In the Twitter world -- usually there is a social media release of the title, then a big event to promo it.
In Adam's case, he released the two things he is planning to promote at the AMAs about 40 hours before the event on Twitter. That generated some press pick up -- Adam returns to the AMAs + new single + album title.
I expect we will hear the single release date as part of the AMA press -- that will be a new piece of news. If not, we will get it shortly.
Regarding BFM -- it exists, it will be released, it will occasionally be in the news.
Adam will respond to the Colwel Platinum lawsuit before 1/2/12 or Adam and his attorneys will reach a settlement with CP. It is a minor business matter and really not going to do anything to Adam's career one way or the other.
Adam fans have done a great job of politely informing the few DJs that played BFM that it was not Adam's new single. Adam fans have done a great job posting information on sites that sell BFM so that buyers will know what this album in. Adam fan attorneys and other entertainment law experts have done a great job explaining the nature of the lawsuit and the limit scope of the claim.
We know what is in the lawsuit. The claim that Adam should not have be allowed to go on Idol was bogus (official legal term). IMO any Adam fans who ignore the facts and make it seem like it will directly and substantially hurt Adam in spite of the fact to the contrary are really making the situation worse.
I am certain that many Adam fans will not agree with me, but I think the best way to make sure no one is fooled by BFM is to make sure the story is out there. And, since this album will almost certainly go for sale on Monday, it is best to add information so that it reflects favorably on Adam.

I love this interview that He did after the AMA's. And I do think Adam knows He has to play the game with the industry people to get where He needs to go. Lulu - thanks for posting this interview, this is Adam at his best! I love everything he says here, and he is looking so gorgeous as he says it. Flirting with the interviewer and the camera, you could tell he was proud of that performance, and feeling good about himself. I don't remember ever seeing his performance on Letterman, was it also cancelled? Did he sing WWFM? Anyone have the YT of it? Mahalia, Here is the Letterman performance.

Perhaps the 2 biggest surprises to me about "Trespassing" are: 1. Claude Kelly and Dr. Luke are responsible for the second Adam Lambert lead single. First, FYE, now BTIKM. (The new single is a song that is much better suited to Adam's voice.) 2. There is no mention of Max Martin or Shellback and "Trespassing". Perhaps Adam never worked with Max and/or Shellback on a track for this album? Odd to have the two people responsible for the single that missed, get the lead single, while the two people who brought Adam his two hits are not represented. Adam said there were a few surprises on the album -- maybe there is a track from Max/Shellback. It could be the Bonnie McPhee/Oliver Goldstein track (Bonnie often works with Max Martin and with Bennie Blanco). I really don't find the Claude/Dr. Luke correlation strange at all. I see it more as a coincidence. I imagine Adam and RCA had all the potential singles and (as he's said over and over, they analyzed and agonized over what should be released first). Claude and Dr. Luke have had plenty of songs on the charts and lots of hits over the past two years (that sound nothing like FYE). It was decided that BTIKM was the most strategic lead-off single after taking into account ALL the material he's produced for this album. I hope they're right. The primary duty of Single No. 1 is to get him CHR play. I've always loved FYE as a song and especially as a video, but they underestimated the conservativism of the radio PDs, who were probably looking for an excuse not to play it, especially after the AMAs. I still contend that if it was recorded and released by Britney, who was the original, intended artist (I think), radio would have eaten it up. HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVERYONE!!!!AMAs, Whooo hoooo!!!! Full circle realness !! Putting everything together, all the little bits and pieces from the London listeners, including Popjustice, it seems like many of them heard: *BTIKM *A Bonnie/Oli song (probably the justice/daft punk reference, a club dance type song) *The Pharrel song (seems like they liked this; seems like it is sexy, (didn't Adam joke - Don'tknow if you're ready for this - but maybe they are worried this is a bit too sexy after what happened to FYE to use as a lead out for Adam here) *Does the IamRico song make 4? One of the London crew mentioned he could see why they might want to play it safe... So my guess is that BTIKM feels the safest to the label to lead out with given Adam's history. The good thing is that the London listeners did seem to like them all, even though they had favorites. They were positive about everything they were hearing. If the first one hits and gets played a lot, the others will follow. There is so much strategy involved, even more for Adam than for other artists given the way FYE went down. Hopefully they've had good input from radio, and they get it right. Of course, I don't know anything, but I do feel a shift in the air regarding Adam. That makes me hope that maybe good industry buzz about Tresspassing by people in the know is ~encouraging others, like the AMA people, to get on board. Finally, in my mind I picture Adam on TV, looking like he does, singing the BTIKM track live, infusing it vocally with all the love he is feeling for Sauli, and I can't imagine not melting.
