This has been the best month! And I'm loving all the recent photos and video clips. I had to get up and walk around after I read the Rolling Stone article, just to expend some of my excited energy and calm myself down! Love that he's fighting for it! Love that he's trusting his own instincts. Love the title of Adam's "sexy, mad funky" song with Nile Rodgers, "Shady." Love this quote, "There's party music, sex music, fucked-up-relationship S&M music." "Massive beats" and "a club-ready sound!" And OMG this quote, "I'd never considered marriage before. But now that I am, I can't do it." Loved getting a glimpse inside his home. Tripped me out that Pharrell compared Adam in any way to Steve Winwood, LOL, 'cause he was one of my first musical crushes. (Love him in all his incarnations from the S*&@^#r Davis Group to Traffic to Blind Faith and solo.) "Trespassing" is "a swaggering cut that evokes 'Another One Bites the Dust.'" LOVE. Love Adam's description of Pharrell as postmodern. I love everything!!

I can't wait to hear more of what Pharrell has to say about Adam. I don't know if this was posted already, but here's a recent, brief three-part interview with Pharrell that made me think of Adam: Pharrell on Justin Timberlake, Recording Michael Jackson Tracks & His Global Hits. In Part 2, Pharrell talks a little about the transformation he helped Justin make. I hope he can help Adam in a similar way. And, in Part 3, the interviewer asks him if he was aware of all of his accomplishments and at the end of his answer Pharrell says, "I'm a Southern boy so, you know, at the end of the day humility is everything and I think credit is to be given and not to be taken. But, at the same time, sometimes I really need to be told and reminded because I'm so in my head about, like, moving on and doing the new thing and the next thing. . . . Sometimes I get ahead of myself . . . for the most part that's why I didn't notice it because I never thought that I was stamping anything or I was pioneering anything." From the comments Adam made in the Out interview about Pharrell being intelligent, deep, spiritual, and other bits I've heard about/from Pharrell, it seems like they have similar personality traits as well as outlooks and philosophies, which could make for a great working relationship. I'm so anxious to hear their collaboration.

And the EW interview is awesome, too. Yay, "Better Than I Know Myself" will be upbeat! Now that they've taken down the demo, it's the perfect time for a real song snippet. (I hope!)

I have so many favorite Winwood songs (including all of these that have already been posted upthread--"Higher Love," "Can't Find My Way Home," "Gimme Some Lovin'," "The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" [perfect!], "Dear Mr. Fantasy," "While You See a Chance"), but here's another favorite with trippy lyrics for a down-the-rabbit-hole day:
