Um...erm...... Its cute, but I really hope we don't pick a name that you have to be an Adam stan to "get", y'know? Since we're hoping that this album will go beyond the current Adam pool, I'm pulling for a name that even an outsider could comprehend. [evil grin] So, in line with the signs I saw at my local high school this weekend.... VOTE TRESP!! VOTE TRESP!! VOTE TRESP!![darn - where's my favorite smiley with the placard?? ;D ] Hmmm....Just to be clear I really don't care about the outcome here, but I do think our culture here in the US has a strong enough Latino presence that most people think 3 when they see "tres" (e.g. MTVTr3s). But quite possibly that's just because I usually live in Texas... Certainly, someone who doesn't know the album name would get it from neither TRESP or 3PASS, which makes me wonder--why all this concern about the uninitiated? What are we "voting" on here? A shortening for purposes of posting on ATop? Why do we need something decipherable to non-fans then? If we're talking about how we refer to the album in more general (typed) conversation then I'm afraid I agree with those who said it'll just have to be the whole damn thing: Trespassing--which we can apparently get trending so that's fine. Don't think FYE meant much to the uninitiated either (remember all the fuss over the media super-chain back in 2009)? Worked out okay, though! Just to be clear (tone is hard) not being ornery--just genuinely wondering what this conversation is about??? (LOL look at me jumping into conversation head-first without actually knowing what we were talking about )

To explain 3PASS--think Spanish: Tres (3) PASS --ing.
eta: LOL i guess all the questions prove me wrong though--maybe this is less of a spanish-oriented culture than I thought and being from Texas just skews my sense of things!

See, and you're Canadian, so that makes sense in its way (although I know, i think, that you're not from French Canada, but still...I give in--it was just Tejas getting the better of me)

I took the 3 to be Tres, also. Cute, but apparently a little obscure. My vote is for Tresp FTW.

Hope it eventually becomes GWPA - Grammy winning platinum album!THIS!!!!! Ok - gotta go back now, and pretend to be responsible. Later peeps! ETA: [looks up] Its a Spanish joke ("tres"=3). [grins] Which only works if you know Spanish! ETA2: Which, honestly, is why - as cute as it is - I think it isn't a good abbreviation. There are a lot of non-english speaking Adam stans. Throwing yet another language into the mix to form a "funny"abbreviation feels a little unfair.
