There are a lot of songs I like better than WWFM. But it was #10 on Billboard and got him a Grammy nomination. I've often wondered if it had come first if it would have reached #1 and if he would have won the Grammy. We'll never know but he might not have become who he is. I think this is the real Adam and I love and respect him for doing it his way!

Ha! I think we all have our favorites. So if I had to pick the first single, it would have been the song Adam co-wrote with Ryan Tedder. "Sleepwalker." But all of his tv performances of WWFM were exciting and just so good. He made the performances more rock like and sexy. At the end of the day, he was not going to be allowed to release his first one or two singles unless they were Dr. Luke's. I was so glad when he was no longer a factor. TBH, I was also glad when Adam broke from Max Martin. They seemed to work well for the ladies but they never really seemed to capture Adam and play to his enormous strengths, imo. RCA wanted the lead single to be WWfM. I actually remember it was announced - very briefly - as the lead single on Adam Official before being pulled. I think it was 19M and Adam that wanted FYE, probably in no small measure because of the AMAs. WWfM was not my favorite song on FYE the album, but to this day I thank all that is holy for it because it was the absolute perfect song to help Adam navigate the post-AMA minefield. FYE was dead in the water even before the AMAs; radio stations just weren't having it. Britney could have gotten away with those lyrics, but Adam could not. Elvis Duran, the hugely influential Top 40 DJ on Z100 in NYC, wanted the lead single to be "Fever". One man's opinion, but that one man's endorsement could have potentially made a huge difference in radio play. Then, as now, he had tremendous power. Again, doesn't matter, but it's one more thing that stuck in my head.

Adam was held to some crazy a** standards then. But at the end of the day he did great. OTT and wild. Beautiful ballads. Rock. Sexy dance moves. They are all representative of Adam Lambert and they are all him. He is more diverse than most. Something for everyone. And WWFM has a special place in my heart because it did so much for Adam and his career.

YEOWWW! And Adam was a part of both...and dare I say, the BEST part of the Kennedy Centre Honors!!!!! Go Ricky Minor!
Adam was a part of these the previous year. They have since had a Kennedy Honor's (Carrie performed at the last one) and Oscar (Janeal Monea? performed). So wouldn't Rickey be nominated for the more current shows? Eligibility for the 2020 was June 1, 2019 - May 31, 2020 and Adam's Believe was December of 2018 - so I think you are right - this is nice but not about Adam.

I have to admit, though WWFM was never one of my favorite Adam songs, the many live performances back then were incredible. There were many, and each of them was utterly captivating.

I love seeing Eber's bar chat again. It's very funny. Easy to see where Adam gets his wit and worldplay skills.
I would have loved to see Fever be Adam's first single. Nobody was ready for FYE. And to me, WWFM is way too tame. Fever would have been a good compromise between the rather pedestrian WWFM and the super sexual FYE. Fever is a good middle ground, sexy but not raunchy. Oh well. It's all history now.

It's all history now. I think Fever would have been good too. I think it was Michelle Collins who said it had an immediate hook with just a few notes. Gaga was huge at the time so I would think some of her fanbase would have bought it. He always kills it live, complete with a great high note, and in The Original High tour he had some nice choreography to go with it.
