Adam had a lot of things planned for Velvet but it was not to be this year. Not at all his doing. Wish people would realize that before complaining that not enough attention has been paid to that fabulous album. The Queen gigs are great and Adam has really benefited from that collaboration. Hope we get at least another year or two more. He is also branching out into other forms of entertainment so I bet he will do just fine in the future. I am here for the long haul.
ETA: I also want to say that all of it is Adam's career. I don't think we should be breaking it down into sections. Whatever he decides to do in the future is all part of his career whether it's solo albums and performances, his collab with Queen, his TV work and maybe stage work in the future. Who knows what will be. I'd like to see him in a film someday!

My two cents on the earlier discussion... while I wholeheartedly agree that there have to be guidelines to follow on this forum, I would not judge those fans too harshly who appear more straightforward than others with unpopular opinions. I was pretty surprised at the silence here following the RIR announcement and I conclude that many must have celebrated quietly, while others may have avoided a controversial opinion in relation to the lack of attention to "Velvet". Others of course can't get enough of Queen and Adam and are openly supportive, yet those who are less than enthusiastic should not lose their fan badges either. In the end, we are only human and so is Adam, who is navigating through challenges the best he can. Those who continue to be frustrated with his choices and career decisions do in fact move on eventually. Has the RIR announcements actually been verified? I thought it was still just hearsay. Unless it comes from Adam or from Brian or Roger, I just usually assume it's hearsay or wishful thinking lol. We've been fooled and disappointed before. If it's official...yay!!! I missed it. Oops. My bad. You are right, it looks like it's only hearsay at this point. I'm off on a hike up in the foothills now.

No. RIR is not official yet. Hope it is true tho. But saving my big excitement for an actual announcement, lol.
Good point cheriemelissa. "ETA: I also want to say that all of it is Adam's career. I don't think we should be breaking it down into sections. Yep. It is all Adam's career. He is fortunate to have options and many opportunities. I also hope he gets another judging opportunity (if convenient) because he said he wanted one. I feel the same way about his looks and persona. Makeup. No makeup. Little makeup. Long hair. Shorter hair. OTT. Sophisticated. Sexy. Rocking or dancing. It is all him. One part is no more the real him than another. Nothing fake about him just different moods and appropriate personas for the events. We like some better than others but they are all him and the whole career is his. Love him and all his success for that reason.

And thanks on the feedback re RIR...I just figured I had missed something. I'm not on Twitter, so it's easy to do lol.

If you made a ton of money,I believe this to be true.. Flew all over the world in a private jet ,slept in the most gorgeous hotels in the world, ate the best food ,was best friends with the most famous musicians in the most famous band on the earth and was their solo artist to boot,Had wild appreciative audiences of up to 50,000 and more and was loved for doing it. You knew that this couldn't last forever because Brian and Roger are getting too old to continue for years on end, while you are still young and can still have a solo career, what would you do? I too want Adam out front and on the top of the charts with his own solo career. I love all of Adam's albums ,especially Velvet, but life doesn't seem to be cooperating. Everyone of Adam's albums have met up with difficulties, this being the worst.....so the above with Queen doesn't seem to be anything but pretty wonderful,IMHO Right on! Meantime Adam has gained about 35,000 followers on Instagram the last 6 weeks or so! melliemom I messed this up- tried to fix it- not sure if I did this right. Wasn't trying to steal you post! You're fine hugs

I am bemused when I read fans expressing sadness that Adam does not have the acclaim, stardom, stature and success they think he should have. I have known many extremely talented singers and musicians whose talent and skills are vastly superior to many highly successful performers. They have great passion for their art. Still, they are unable to earn a living as full time professional entertainers. They pay their rent teaching, working in the food industry, selling insurance, working in retail, etc. Not slamming any other professions, but I know they would prefer to be able to perform full time. These folks are happy to perform in churches, in train stations, for elderly in nursing homes, in community gatherings, at the local bar or eatery. They have such a drive to entertain and bring music to others. I see Adam as immensely talented and masterful. But I also know that being immensely talented and masterful does not equate often with being a full time artist, much less one recognized around the world, performing for hundreds, thousands, and tens of thousands. I am thrilled that Adam has achieved so much recognition, acclaim, appreciation, and money. Has been able to live many dreams. I just cannot bemoan where he is as a solo artist or as a member of the best rock band in the world. Those of you who know me know that I would prefer he was focused on a different kind of music which takes full advantage of that one in a billion voice soaring thru complex incredible compositions. (Yup, I am talking about musical theater, classical music, jazz, american standards.) I try not to complain too often that he has opted to use his voice for music that I would otherwise not pay heed to. But I can only be happy he is doing so phenomenally well as an artist and performer. Cassie, I agree with you. I will continue to hope for Adam using that magnificent voice in genres that showcase his skills. I don't think he will ever hit the top in Pop because that voice is just too beyond that medium. Most of it is so focused on younger kids who only appreciate the visual, dance and the beat. They have no clue about vocal prowess and skilled performance. I remember that when I was a teenager, the "good" music was not on top 40; it was considered underground on the FM channels. Not much as changed.
