THIS which is why I don't understand some of Queen's fans who would rather have no one sing than Freddie. My seven year old is a huge P!nk fan (yes, I'm careful about which songs she has access to  . P!nk did a cover of one of Queen's songs during a televised concert , I converted the YouTube to MP3 for her... now she knows many of Queen's songs and loves them. Preventing the songs from being sung by other artist, IMO causes the music to die for the next generation and starts to nullify the influence. Based on the almost unanimous positive response that Adam received on QUEEN fan sites, my impression is that most core QUEEN fans are fine with someone sing these songs if they do it well and do not "mock" Freddy or pretend to be Freddy. My take on the very few negative comments I have read is that no one should attempt to sing these songs live. How unfair to Queen. Should they just fold their tents and go away. I think not! Just this morning I read tons of responses to an article where the majority of comments were very positive and grateful the music is still being heard. Most were extremely flattering of Adam's performance. One for the ages was the common theme!  |

This is an intersting "stealth" video that ilovehawaian tweeted last night. (Sorry, it's dark.) it's from the last day of the Idols Live tour from season 8 where Megan Joy is saying goodbye to Adam. She is clinging to him for dear life for several minutes (lucky!). It's very touching the level of intimacy and affection. And these people who were pretty much thrown together for months and months. Can't imagine anyone reacting like that to a "diva." |
