I am amazed by the talents of Adam’s fans. Photography, illustrations, poetry, prose, animations, personalized t-shirts, albums, music, even games. Visit anyplace Adam fans gather (real or virtual) and you will see all kinds of joyous celebrations of life.

The creativity is astonishing. I am most impressed, however, by the commitment of many Adam’s fans to social justice and fairness. We all know the financial stats – Adam fans have raised over $1 million for charity: water, donorschoose.org, The Trevor Project and several other causes. I have met fans who after years of indifference decided that they really could make a difference – one volunteered at a Food Bank, another decided to contribute her web skills to her local Red Cross, one fan I met in Canada had just returned from Haiti and told me she decided to go because she was inspired by other Adam fans to give something back.

Yes, it is like the “chicken and the egg”, many fans were socially active before they discovered Adam. But like the chickens who continue to multiply, Adam fans seemed to have inspired each other to do a little be more. It is an astounding and beautiful and astounding thing.
