As soon as I got home from work, DH was excited (no, not that kind ;D), and showed me p. 17 of the Nov. 28 issue of Newsweek. There is a picture of Adam between Jessica Alba and Camilla Belle (had to google her - she's an actress) under News Bites with the question, "What will you do for the holidays?" The two answered the question but BB kind of evaded it with this response, "I can't believe its already the holidays. I don't know where the summer went." They used a gorgeous picture - he looked so much better than the other two, my unbiased opinion of course! BB is slowly but surely becoming a big part of pop culture! If he's planning to go to Finland to celebrate Xmas with Sauli's family do you think he will just say it? He evaded the question make me think he also has other plans

Thank you, nica! I also "voted" at the Billboard-poll and wrote in Adam's name in several categories!

With this billboard voting thingie, do you have to vote IN ALL CATEGORIES, or will it let you vote ONLY for Adam stuff. I've been filling in only the categories that apply to Adam (listed previously). The thing is that the voting seems to be unlimited...- not happy about this...

Growing up, my mom always told me the story of her most favorite book when she was growing up too. She memorized the first opening paragraphs and I just listened mesmerized by the story.
Fast forward many many years later. My mom's 85th birthday was fast approaching and I did not know what to get her. Then I remembered her favorite book but could not remember the title or the author. Funny that I remembered the characters and the first few lines so after some sleuthing on the internet, "voila, I found it!". And I found a first edition, printed in 1870. It was a little pricey but I went ahead and got it.
When it arrived, I carefully opened the book (hardbound with gold edges) and it really smelled good. It was given by Grandma Greene to her grandaughter, Emily on Christmas 1875.
I can not forget how thrilled my mom was when she opened her present. To this day, my mom thinks it is one of the best presents she has ever received (she just turned 94 and still enjoys reading).
Yes, good books live forever!

My guess on this would be that Adam might be doing some Christmas show. OR, Dadbert is just being a wise ass! Probably the latter! I know Adam is Jewish. I know that O Holy Night is the most OTT, overly dramatic, schmaltzy Christmas carol ever written. But, Adam, singing O Holy Night..... that would be divine! Dadbert was probably joking, but, he got it right! I don't know, but something tells me Adam might feel a bit uncomfortable singing these words: O Holy night, the stars are brightly shining It is the night of our dear Savior's birth Long lay the world in sin and error pining Til He appeared and the soul felt it's worth A thrill of hope the weary world rejoyces For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn Fall on your knees O hear the angel voices O night divine! O night when Christ was born O night divine! O night, O night divine! And in His Name, all oppression shall cease Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we Let all within us praise his holy name Christ is the Lord! Their name forever praise we... Surely there are other (more secular) Christmas songs that would be as equally beautiful with Adam's voice behind the lyrics!

(Adam mention) www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011/nov/29/elvis-costello-dont-buy-music?CMP=twt_guDon't buy my musicWhy is Elvis Costello telling fans not to buy a new box set of his music? Tim Jonze reports on the fine art of career sabotage Tim Jonze guardian.co.uk, Tuesday 29 November 2011 17.03 EST The "don't buy my music" school of promotion might seem a strange tactic, but Costello's rant is not the first case of a musician committing what looks like career sabotage. Trent Reznor, Katherine Jenkins, Morrissey and even American Idol winner Adam Lambert have all, in recent years, urged fans not to buy their material. And once again Adam is the winner of American Idol. Why does that always make me smirk? I don't dislike Kris, but still, it's as if the whole world has agreed to pretend that what should have happened did happen. I don't think it's necessary to take a traditional song literally. I'm an atheist and I love many Christmas songs, among them O Holy Night, which Adam would kill. At Halloween people can sing songs about ghosts and goblins without believing that such beings exist. I think it's possible to honor the history of belief without personally subscribing to that belief.
