New to me as well. Sroczka79 Magdalena Sroka HAVE WE SEEN THIS PIC BEFORE ... NEW TO ME ... pic.twitter.com/T3BGSASj8 minutes ago Does the fact that I just blew the pic up to 400% so I could see the (front?) door and the decorative album covers nearby* make me kinda stalkerish?? :-/ ;D *And that I recognized Michael's Jackson's Thriller album, and am kicking myself that I don't immediately recognize the other two fuzzy images?

midwivespal I agree about the heteronormative assumptions, and unconscious traditional family roles point -- I tend to get itchy when other people start asking me about having babies for example . I'll also say that looking at it purely through the lens of my own experience, as we all do, lol, the most agonizing thing about being in an often long-distance overseas relationship for me was the worry about being able to live together in the same country. That's what in my experience wasn't a distant or theoretical consideration (like marriage might be), but very real, and very central. I didn't consider getting married before this issue arose partly because I didn't want a relationship I was very happy with to potentially change, especially at a time when other parts of my life were changing rapidly as I followed my career, moved across country, etc. I did get married because the thought of not being able to live together or being separated arbitrarily in the future was skurrier than the thought of marriage, so we got married a week before his temporary work permit was up. Adam and Sauli don't have the impetus of marriage = green card. I am very hopeful that they have other resources and strategies lined up to allow them to be together as much or almost as much as they wish. Reading about other same sex couples that don't have the same resources and do long distance back and forths for years upon years is heart-rending. For me that's part of the pathos of OOL. Not the label or certificate put on the relationship but trying to find a way to share a life with someone, for however long, with huge legal and cultural barriers to overcome.

NEW TO ME ... pic.twitter.com/T3BGSASj8 minutes ago Just noticed there's a photo of Michael Jackson and one of Madonna on the wall xD So Adam. I can't figure out what the other one is though. great eye, fallenangel! It is indeed Thriller and Madonna's true blue album: Can't make out the third but smart money's on Bowie, no? ETA: Yup, looks like Diamond Dogs to me! And Rabbitrabbit--good points, and yeah, it all sounds so very hard. I agree, heartbreaking.

I would guess as Sauli's sisters have small children one big event of the Christmas eve is Santa visiting. Many children sing to Santa first and then he gives the presents. Usually it's also very entertaining for the adults too. The official start of the Christmas is 24 th December at noon when the declaration of Christmas peace is read at Turku and many families watch it from telly. There are also few foods that are traditional. Christmas porridge is made from rise and then there usually is one almond put in it that everyone tries to get and there are some superstitions about all kinds of good luck to the one that gets it. And I guess Christmas ham is like Thanksgiving turkey to us. Many people also go to the cemetery to take candles to the passed away loved ones. The cemeteries are so beautiful when there is snow and there are candles on almost every grave. jojo... visiting the cemetery at Christmas and taking candles is just the MOST BEAUTIFUL IDEA EVAH!!!!! I found this! www.independent.co.uk/life-style/christmas10/entertainment/christmas-traditions-from-around-the-world-2158556.html?action=Gallery&ino=10

Bingo, MWP, thanks! Okay, now that we've checked off "Leg Identification" from our to-do list today, what next? I wish Sauli would post a pic of a pile of laundry so that we can pick out which of the socks are Adam's! #FunFunFun ;D shhhhhh!!!! don't mention the l-word!! my pile might hear you, wake up out of its deceptively gentle-looking semi-hibernation, exact its revenge, and then all you'll ever see of me will be a frantic hand briefly and feebly grasping at the air and then nothing but silence.

I figured if he had MJ, she had to be there too so I googled Madonna album covers and there it was. I also googled Bowie but wasn't sure if it was Diamond dogs, the coloring seemed different.
