OMG, this is too damn funny!!! After all those crazily-translated RS articles from sites all over the world I was lmao at what NoAngel said yesterday about how it's like a game of "international telephone!!" I can just imagine an upcoming interview at a radio station going something like this: DJ: So, Adam… congratulations on the success of your new single! AL: Thank you! I’m thrilled it’s doing so well! DJ: Well, it’s the kind of great song that makes us all want to dance, that’s for sure, but I wouldn’t exactly call it “sex music.” AL: erm… sex music? DJ: Well, yah… We saw on the internet that you’ve got some pretty steamy sex music coming up on your new album that involves being chained to a headboard… a little touch of some raunchy S&M, right? AL: Ah, I don’t think I ever said… DJ: From your Rolling Stone interview, bro! You said “sex music and fucked-up relationship S&M type tunes that are all real”, man, from your REAL LIFE! So, this Trespassing sex music is something that’s playin’ in the background during a little headboard action with Brian May? AL: I think that might’ve been a typo… I believe I said “sexy music…” by “real” I mean… wait, wut? Brian May? DJ: Well, come on there, Adam… I mean, I got a million tweets about your backstage EMA interview where you called Brian a queen, and… A: Noooooooo….. I said “I love Queen, and I’m a queen, and…” DJ: But what about this Polish article that says you got a sex song that invites Brian May into your bedroom? A: ?????? DJ: And I read on the internet he’s gonna be your guitarist when you debut “Shady” during the opening ceremonies at the London Olympics… -------------------------------------------------- OMG... it's just beginning!!! Antidote to that - try this. OTT but WORTH the time to watch. Thanks for all the info, bobo!!  I love hearing about traditions from other cultures! Here in Canada, I never knew any families that actually sang together at Christmas time. I did listen to that vid you posted, and I think Saana has a good voice! I'm thinking that Sauli's family probably sings traditional Finnish Christmas songs, which Adam won't know.... but I guess he could hum along. LOL Good morning all - just checking in after reading the thread from last night (my time) and if you want to see examples of a Danish celebration, here are a couple of links. We celebrate on the 24th, starting with a traditional dinner around six o'clock (so the children won't get too tired) consisting of roast pork and roast duck stuffed with apples and prunes accompanied by red cabbage (warm), plain potatoes and "brown" (sugar-coated) potatoes and of course gravy. The traditional dessert is a type of rice pudding with lots of chopped almonds accomanied by a warm cherry sauce and one whole almond hidden in the pudding somewhere with a prize for the one who finds it. After dinner it's time for singing and "dancing" (more like shuffling) around the tree. After the "holy" songs as my dad calls them and the fun songs, it's time for presents - and some much needed coffee for the grownups, as the last song is one that requires running around the house - still with linked hands - until you run out of breath! There is nothing religious about this except for some of the songs and we have no church-going traditions in our family. We only go for christenings, confirmations, weddings and funerals. But many people also go for Christmas and it is the one time of year that churches are completely full - and there are even special children's services. I would miss the singing and the "dancing" around a beautifully decorated tree with lights and decorations - many home-made and handed down from my great-grandparents and some made this year, if we didn't do that. Now, I'm curious - do you "dance" around the tree in any other countries? |
