I say bottom right. ;D What do you say? :D Is Adam one of the "toe-in" feet? My guess is he's the one in the charcoal colored jeans, he's taking the pic, and Sauli's to his right. Keep in mind it's 7 a.m. here and I'm not fully functional until 5 p.m.

"Hard to choose which bits of banter and interviews to use because there are so many good ones. Here are a few of my faves. The audio/video quality varies greatly, but it's worth it just to hear him speak so freely and laugh."

Thanks for all the info, bobo!! I love hearing about traditions from other cultures! Here in Canada, I never knew any families that actually sang together at Christmas time. I did listen to that vid you posted, and I think Saana has a good voice! I'm thinking that Sauli's family probably sings traditional Finnish Christmas songs, which Adam won't know.... but I guess he could hum along. LOL Yeah, the US is pretty much the same. We have become a nation of music observers, not participants. My father, who grew up in the 30's and 40s, talks about family sing-alongs around the piano. I think with the proliferation of recorded music, we have stopped "doing" music. Also, a lot of us think if we aren't really good at it, we shouldn't do it --at all (the "Simon Cowell effect"). Anyone here remember Mitch Miller's bouncing ball?

OH well if I can't have any music... I think I will just have fun... frowning and pouting creates crease lines and bad for the skin.... THE FACE THAT WILL CONQUER THE WORLD
Love the gif. I wanted to do something with that revolving globe, but I just don't have the skills. This is great!!!!

Mszue, I love Christmas music, secular and sacred. Here are some of my favorites that are a little less conventional.
Straight No Chaser-12 Days of Christmas (10 member male acappella-comedy)
and their Carol of the Bells is beautiful
Butterfly Boucher - Cinnamon and Chocolate
I posted this song last year--it might be my new favorite because it really expresses my feelings about Christmas. It begins with more comedy/satire but finishes with one of the sweetest Christmas messages--makes me teary every time. Tim Minchin is an Australian born musician/comedian whose performances often reference his atheism. This song was written for his daughter - White Wine in the Sun.

I spent a lot of time at my Grandma's. My Mom was a single working mother. Watched Mitch Miller and Lawrence Welk faithfully. We celebrated on Christmas Eve also. I'm Hungarian and Finnish. Had to have the same thing to eat also. Fried fish and mushroom soup. I think I'm the only one in the family that still makes it. Christmas Day was more lazy with the family members that lived farther away coming over to eat, and eat, and eat. After Christmas Eve dinner, we would all pile into someone's car and drive around looking at the decorated houses. Not anyone's tradition but my Mom's, but we would put out a glass of Scotch and potato chips for Santa. We figured after such a long night he deserved something better than milk and cookies.
One of my favorite things is Christmas cookie baking day. The house was all decorated and we played Christmas songs and baked all day. It was even better if there was snow on the ground. Hubby and I do it together now since it's just the two of us here. It's a lot of fun though. And it's great that he loves to do it too.
My family never went to church, but I went to candle lit midnight mass with my Catholic friends a few times. It really was beautiful.
I'm also an athiest, but love all the Christmas music. I cannot bake cookies without hearing this one. The words are really true (or used to be). People just get nicer during the holiday season. I had this album and lost it somewhere. A friend found me a cd of it online. It's not for sale anymore. That was the best Christmas present ever.
I also love this one and Kathy Mattea's version is wonderful.
Is this the Little Drummer Boy that you guys were talking about last night?

Finland ! Before Sauli , Finland for me means VILLE VALO. I do not know if you guys know him, VILLE VALO of HIM ,-for me he is among the best rock voices there is... Just love VILLE VALO's voice.... different from Adam..only Adam can do a rock wail to end all rock wails.... . but Ville Valo, I love his voice , too and suits the rock sound I really like.... this is VILLE VALO- Funeral of hearts and the earlier , Wicked Games ... and if he were to meet Adam and maybe perform together somewhere in this universe...Oh wow... vocal greatness... And here is the VOCAL FORCE MAJEURE

If the play White Christmas comes to your town, go see it. We saw it on Broadway a few years ago and it was wonderful. Sadly, it is not happening here this year, but I looked up a schedule and it is playing around the country.
