sugaree - you're showing your country roots, love it! Represent, girl!
Can't believe I hadn't heard the song "Did you know" , it is so beautiful, thanks for posting that.
I am really enjoying this thread with all the Christmas music, thanks to everyone who has posted their favorites. Also on last night's thread, p 20 - 24, check it out if you haven't yet.
One of my favorite Christmas shows is Miracle on 34th St. a classic, and was remade a few years back.

Billy Joel wrote this song a few years ago. His inspiration came from letters he received from soldiers in Afghanistan. Listen to the intro first.
Christmas in Fallujah
ETA: forgot to add this.
The proceeds from this single are donated to Homes for Our Troops, a nonprofit organization that builds specially adapted homes for American service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with severe disabilities.

The only thing missing is the infamous pleather pant rip. youtu.be/e7aCfeqvhFkHe must interview with this gal again. Such fun.

Been imagining what Adam's visit to Finland will be like? Wonder if he will make any public appearances, or will he just visit Sauli's family? Sauli must have given up his apt., so will they stay with Sauli's parents, or in a hotel? Do his parents speak any English? How much Finnish has Adam learned, if any? He seems to have a talent in languages, so maybe he has been learning some Finnish? Where do Sauli's parents live, how far is it from the big cities in Finland? I don't know much about Finland, so depending on yall to fill us in. How long will he stay there? A week? a few days? When are they going and when will they be back? Surely Adam will hop over to London while he's there, and what will happen then? Although the UK media mentioned seeing him in January........ Will he be back by NYE to perform somewhere?
Questions, questions, questions.................

I would guess as Sauli's sisters have small children one big event of the Christmas eve is Santa visiting. Many children sing to Santa first and then he gives the presents. Usually it's also very entertaining for the adults too.
The official start of the Christmas is 24 th December at noon when the declaration of Christmas peace is read at Turku and many families watch it from telly.
There are also few foods that are traditional. Christmas porridge is made from rise and then there usually is one almond put in it that everyone tries to get and there are some superstitions about all kinds of good luck to the one that gets it. And I guess Christmas ham is like Thanksgiving turkey to us.
Many people also go to the cemetery to take candles to the passed away loved ones. The cemeteries are so beautiful when there is snow and there are candles on almost every grave.
