So do these radio stations that have the song, have a file that is blocked with a timestamp? Something that will only play, once a certain time has been reached / a certain go ahead code is given / etc?

Then do s o m e t h i n g (million dollar question WHAT it is) to get all the radio stations that are on board or willing to play along to stand by trigger ready and then....let it explode?

Doable, but is that what is happening? Not sure, but at the same time, I don't understand all the concerns here (Gaga, Glamazonian or otherwise)....Of course RCA cannot dictate what stations should play, especially play every hour. But obviously, they can ask / negotiate / push / promote. And they are not going to do something or even bring forward a date, if they have not got at least the buy-in from a few important stations. Perhaps its for something like a day or whatever period is negotiated. I'm not saying everyone is going to play along - of course not, but if the single is good, a good number might and that is all that is needed. If people from Russia to NZ to US are just waiting, this is going to create an impression. Adam creates news with just a haircut or one simple twitter message, he sure can create a news cycle with something like this.

Not understanding why folks are thinking this could not work. Of course, whether the song keeps playing long term cannot be determined by RCA's promotions team, I know that. That is why I presume you would do something like this only for a song that has a chance to have staying power and reach the top of the charts.

And with following Gaga to a T, I was talking about the timing of a world wide initial play on radio, nothing more. I mentioned that Adam would obviously NOT be marketed like Gaga, so I don't think I was blowing smoke here. But a first radio play could be coordinated world wide, just like she did. Why not? Add date is probably early January anyways.

Now, if we just knew what this huge triggering event is that we all are missing in this equation? And why is Sony saying that the date is not known? They must KNOW it, they are just not talking.

It is all a little strange, it's leaving me dazed and confused. Confused, but happy.......or something along those lines. And while we are talking about Kara, I agree she wanted the Gokey/Adam finale and had not quite digested the part one of the results when the second half came down and Gokey was out. It's not that she wanted Adam out, she liked him, it was just that she could not let go of her chosen number two quite yet. Slow at processing, I suppose.
