Finlandia was used by the Finnish Ice Dancing champions (Susanna Rahkamo and Petri Kokko)a number of years ago for their competition long program (long-time ice skating fan here). It was lovely, as I remember--and I think it was during an Olympic year, but I would have to look it up. I saw them in person once, and the male dancer had the same blue eyes as Sauli. I liked them . They were different, creative and with courage risking the boundaries. They got married later on, after they were finished with skating. He's spent a couple of years in USA now - he is one of Google's Global directors, changing to Germany now. I liked them a lot too, 'cause they we so different. revlisacat I remember them ice dancing Jean Sibelius' "Valse Triste", but not Finlandia. If you find YT, please post a link. Greetings! Just got back from a 4 day trip to see my son perform in a Dance concert at UNT. He was amazing and we are very proud parents!
It is apparent to me that I missed out on a ton of stuff! No way to catch up with 4 days of 30+ pages of news threads. I was pleased to notice that yesterday's ATOP had over 3,000 visitors!!!! Amazing! KUDO's to Q3 and everyone here that does the posting.
I am back now, and will strive to join back into this wild ride, courtesy of Adam Fucking Lambert.
I send my heartfelt condolences to those of you that have RL jobs/issues, as it is obvious to me that BERTING is a full time job, one that I fully intend to master.
.....carry on.

They were always pushing the envelope, trying to bring something new into Ice dance. That's why some people (judges) didn't always like them. :( I met Susanna several times since we went to the same school, we were not close friends since she is a couple of years older then I am but we met occasionally since there were other figure skaters in my class and we used to spend time together (our school was close to the ice rink so there were lots of skaters there).

Is it any wonder "Adam smiles a lot!" ;D I notice Sauli smiles a lot as well. Very cute little smilies!!! You are right..they both smile a lot...especially at each other!!! As the lady said in her tweet last night ...Smiles a lot. I often reflect on a comment Sauli's Dad made around the Big Brother era...something like... If someone can't get along with Sauli, they best look at themselves in the mirror. To me this bodes well for Sauli being a genuinely nice man. We all want happiness in life...and relationships take a lot of work no matter what/who ...but at least these two start with positive spirits. ( Does that sound like a older person speaking!)
