So today's news is:
Adam's jealous & possessive over Sauli and Billboard has him all wrapped up in a Queen tribute band (hope people will read the clarification!) and maybe he'll sing with Xtina and maybe he'll even sing a Christmas song and maybe he'll be on the XFactor Finale --- don't you see what they're doing, people??? They're just trying to distract us from flailing about when the single is coming out! ;D

billboard clarifies..... billboardbiz billboardbiz Updated: #Queen Talking With @adamlambert For Additional Concerts, Roger Taylor says @queenwillrock #Idol -- bit.ly/t9gSkR 3 minutes ago Updated: Queen Talking With Adam Lambert For Additional Concerts"While Queen drummer Roger Taylor is at the finish line in creating a band-authorized Queen tribute band, he and his bandmates have begun discussions with Adam Lambert to front Queen in concert." Seems pretty squeeworthy to me! This is as explicit as we've seen Brian or Roger get about the idea of future occasion-specific collabs. I get that Adams own music--creation, promotion, performance--is of course his priority. But it's just occurred to me that this kind of standing relationship with Queen would be a terrific way for Adam to satisfy the undeniably significant classic rock fan portion of his fan base (who insist that this kind of music is what his voice was made for) while still allowing him to have his own music be current, and forward-thinking, with the kind of pop and electronic sound that Adam is most interested in. With FYE Adam said he wanted to stay true to that rock sound because the fans loved it, but also wanted the more modern sound and production that he was artistically drawn to--the resulting compromise was not always successful. This is a much much better solution to the dilemma. Queen is one of the only bands (perhaps the only band) out there big enough and still respected and beloved enough for this to remain a honored gig for Adam rather than some sort of role-playing demotion from his own work. (of course we're talking very occasional appearances here.). And there's no denying how well both their performing style and social history mesh. What a great way for Adam to continue getting his rock on without having his own work sound dated or like an uncomfortable compromise! So squee! There.

*sigh*..... it still claims John was there. Whatever happened to research and fact checking. haha...that's because Glamberts are not correcting them probably ;D Yup! All of the replies that I saw only referenced correcting their story in regards to Adam.

The best of both worlds. Now, if we could only get a concert or two of Adam singing opera, I would be in heaven (along ewith nica).

I am on board for Adam doing lite opera -- don't throw things at me please. But I would love him to sing some of the classic Hollywood opera songs from the 1930's. Cheezy --- absolutely. But delicious campy fun!!

My first date with hubby was to an opera. Before Adam, my last rock or pop concert was the Beatles in the 60's!! When the thread revisited the top three decision at Idol, I was reflecting on how very critical it was that Adam went on to the finale. Gokey/Kris meant no Queen connection. We are now starting to see the incredible ramification on that fateful performance. As I read through the flailing around the single dropping now or them, through all the delightful Sauli stories, I find myself still thunderstruck and wonderstruck about the EMA concert. I listen to it at the beginning and end of every day and think - this really happened. Adam will be everything we think both as his own man and as the source of revitalization of one of the worthiest and most iconic bands EVAH!

Sorry--momentary OT moaning--MAJOR tech fail: I'm on the bus to go visit my sis for a few days, and just brought my iPad because it's so much lighter than my laptop and has everything on it. Before I leave I try to quickly add the last few songs I purchased to the iPad iTunes so that I can listen to them on the road. But I have no clue what I'm doing, and apparently I just managed to erase ALL my music off the iPad except for those few new songs. gAH!!! At least I still have the queen medley in video form. Guess that's all I'll be listening to for the next five days! (I just hope the rest of my music is still on my laptop and that I didn't manage to somehow delete that too! It should be ok? But damn, all my carefully structured playlists, etc, GONE! It really shouldn't be so easy for incompetants like me to fuck everything up! They should put up hurdles or something!). However, on the technology is cool side, I'm typing this from the bus, which has wifi! (my iPad doesn't have a 3G plan, or whatever they're called.)

I think Adam could TOTALLY sing opera. He would absolutely kill it - especially those high notes the girls sing.
