Yup! Sounds like Adam! #effortless And there you have it. Effortless. Of course. And those old guys need a young guy that they do not have to work too hard to get up to speed so they can have a little more time in the superstar sun. Why not Adam? It would be a cool opportunity for more exposure. Mys*&@^#r, I love your posts too.

I've added this to the Adam/Queen EMA post. atop.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=adam2performances&thread=556&page=1#119167Oh what the hell who wants to work I did it now. Greek article www.patrinorama.com/v2012/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=147531&catid=79:music&Itemid=13Translation : Queen and Adam Lambert together? And where you think you have seen everything and there's nothing more cool than Lady Gaga, something new comes along and shakes your previously calm waters. We¢re talking about Adam Lambert, known from American Idol , who after a live appearance on stage with the legendary Queen at the MTV Europe Awards ,discusses an upcoming tour in partnership planned by the band. His arrangement of ''The show must go on''and''We will rock you / We are the champions'' that they made together at the international awards, seems to have been the beginning of a lot if anything special cooperation! So let us get a little taste of what will follow, if both parts agree. They also have a YT video from the EMA's awards taken from a fan with TSMGO. 4Msrmyn You know when it comes time to write Adams bio, you will be used to source!!

I'm pro Queen, in general, on principle , and for the reasons specific to Adam's pop/rock dilemma that I mentioned yesterday so won't repeat here. Very excited about all the gossip, and agree with all those who nixed the "tour" part of this telephone message...I think were talking at the VERY most about a few sporadic events here. However, people have been talking about how this would effect Adam's cred (e.g. Compared to idol) and here I want to say, speaking as some whose friends don't take Adam seriously at all (don't take it personally, they don't take any top 40 stars seriously, cept maybe kanye and, with a wink, JT--yeah, they're assholes ;D ), Adam being Queen's occasional Frontman would definitely make my fronds take him, and his own music, more seriously. (That was probably one of the most crappily constructed sentences ever, but whatevs, I'm too lazy to fix it and you got the gist.) Trust me: this is very diff from the idol label. Exactly!! *waves madly from Texas*

thejustpushplay.com/2011/12/07/possible-queen-and-adam-lambert-concert-dates/Possible Queen and Adam Lambert Concert DatesRock band Queen have begun discussions with American Idol finalist Adam Lambert to front Queen in concert! Lambert sang with Queen drummer Robert Taylor and guitarist Brian May at the MTV Europe Awards on November 6th. They performed “The Show Must Go On” and “We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions.” Taylor told Billboard.com: “He has grown into a really great performer with an astonishing voice with a range that’s great. We would like to work with him again. There’s nothing signed just yet but we’re talking about live dates. It could be very exciting.” more..

Like glitztripper, I am not angsting or losing sleep about this - just thinking things through. And I do trust Adam's judgment to no end. Also, all (direct source) reports indicate it wouldn't be a tour per se, just a couple of one-offs at festivals and so on. Sorry about Paul Rodgers, didn't know about Bad Company. I am sure he is successful and has a career and fanbase. I still think it's interesting though that there are people (like me) for whom he is and will always be known as the Freddie replacement. NOT what I want for Adam. IDK how old you are, but I just turned 30 this august and while I too young to remember Bad Company in it's heyday I grew up on classic rock because of my Dad so to me Paul Rodgers is the lead singer of Bad Company....not "that replacement for Freddie". I guess it doesn't necessarily depend on your age so much as your knowledge of music, etc. Besides--Paul took on the gig years after his own band/career had long left the limelight so younger ppl may not have any frame of reference for him, while Adam by virtue of being new and young and current at least has younger ppl knowing he is more than just some dude going to sing with Queen. Besides if someone is going to just assume that's all he is even if he only sings with them a handful of times over his whole career, then there's nothing you can do. Those ppl are probably more interested in Queen than Adam himself and I wouldn't worry about them... Adam has his own fans, his own thing. I'm not worried. Let's see how album 2 does before we start to get worried about anything lol.

I wonder if Brian May and David Bowie are close friends.....just pondering. Can you imagine the people Adam would meet and the stories he would hear just hanging out with Queen for a few stellar performances.......I see Eber learning makeup tricks from Sutan so that Adam will invite him along in a professional capacity. Speaking of Sutan, his career seems to have evolved -- I wonder if he'll tour with Adam again?! (Just thinking of other things besides this damn tech manual I'm editing and trying to release a major cranial log jam.)

www.stereoboard.com/content/view/169371/9Adam Lambert Set To Join Queen For Tour?Did anyone else notice this little tidbit at the end of the article: "In other Queen news, a biopic about Queen and their iconic ex-frontman is now in the works and will be called ‘Mercury’, starring Borat’s Sacha Baron Cohen." Are they talking about a movie about Freddie? Maybe I should know who this Sacha Baron Cohen is, but I don't have a clue? Sacha Baron Cohen is an actor and comedian whose characters are Ali G., Brüno, and most famously Borat. His most successful movie was Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Here's a photo: www.hollywoodreporter.com/sites/default/files/2011/01/Sacha%20Baron%20Cohen_a_p.jpg [/img]
He also played the (fake) Italian barber Pirelli in the movie version of Sweeney Todd (he enters the scene at 1:57): Interesting choice to play Freddie. He resembles Freddie in looks, but he is much taller. I'm also assuming that he will be lip-synching the vocals. Not much resemblance to Freddie there.

Ok, the Olympics-that would be HUGE and SPECIAL and I'm all for it . But a "tour"? Somehow the assumption here is being made that "tour"=a few high profile events. To me " a few" is not a tour and not what they are saying. And I don't think the average reader of these articles necessarily thinks that either. Perhaps "a few" is the reality of it, but I never assume and certainly don't trust the average reader to assume either. glitztripper- the whole reason Queen is putting together the Queen Extravaganza show is because they don't want to tour. They are been there done that to the point they are plain not interested on going on the road. Go read some about each of them them and where they are personally and you will see that a "tour" is not at all in their plans. As I mentioned earlier today the media is using the word "tour" all on their own when all Roger said was a mention about "live dates." Could be one a year. Whatever it is will likely take some time to work out. As it stands all this talk is just talk. It is getting Adam's name out into the world right when he needs it and that is a very good thing. And if he happens to be associated with a band like Queen that is icing on the cake. Adam has his own priorities and goals so it's probably best if we let him decide how to run his career but the media coverage itself is win/win.

in reply to Lulu2365 and gzkeydo you know what my 40-year old son, who used to play guitar in a band in his twenties (and hence I've always believed him to be my music "expert"), said after I twisted his arm into watching the EMA Queen video? He said: Established artists need not embellish their performances with all that warbling. At that point, I gave him up for lost... but I feel bad his remark left me speechless... CASSIE you can provide a most incisive retort ??? It is written in the instruction manual for adult children, especially males, that they must be "meh" on everything their parents, especially their mothers, are passionate about. I think it is Chapter VI Subsection 3.28 line 42. But the good news is, you know what "meh" means and he doesn't. ;D I soooo just sent your post to my son.....awaiting some smart ass reply. LMAO!

Do we have to assume that Adam will only cover Queen songs if he does some one-offs with them? Apparently all, or at least several, of Queen's band members contributed to their songbook, so they aren't stuck on just one songwriter ... who's to say that they wouldn't do something of Adam's if/when he is fronting them?
