2.16.21 by Q3
The was discussion in yesterday's thread about some of Adam's pre-Idol recordings. It made me think about some of the pre-Idol performances and recordings that I have not listened to for ages. I thought I might not be alone. So, here are a few recordings that you may not have seen for a while.

"Come to Me, Bend to Me" from Brigadoon (2004)
(no video available)
Description: Adam Lambert gives a brilliant performance of "Come to Me, Bend to Me" from "Brigadoon." There's no video, but we include some older photos of Adam that you may not have seen.
The performance is from Houston's Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) in 2004 - so Adam was about 22 years old. Amazingly, this is from a "live" stage performance, not a studio recording with multiple takes. For information about current TUTS programming, visit www.tuts.com/
Adam has made it very clear that this is not the type of recording he wants to make - but it sure proves that he's the best singer of this year's American Idol contestants. The wonderful phrase at 3:23 lingers on for over 20 seconds without a breath, effortlessly...
"Brigadoon" is a musical with a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe that debuted on Broadway in 1947. It tells the story of a mysterious Scottish village that appears for only one day every hundred years, though to the villagers, the passing of each century seems no longer than one night. The enchantment is viewed by them as a blessing rather than a curse, for it saved the village from destruction. According to their covenant with God, no one from Brigadoon may ever leave, or the enchantment will be broken and the site and all its inhabitants will disappear into the mist forever. Two American tourists, lost in the Scottish Highlands, stumble upon the village just as a wedding is about to be celebrated, and their arrival has serious implications for the village's inhabitants.
