Nope. Taking his Finnish friend to a Finnish Independence Day celebration made perfect sense to me. Especilaly if there would be mucho Finnish being spoken!  (Of course, maybe Adam and the band is rehearsing too.) I am still wondering about the Trevor Project thing though. ??? I'll give Adam the benefit of the doubt about the Independence Day bash, but as a good boyfriend, my first thought was that he should have gone. Yes! I am high maintenance. Given the way Sauli talked about the invitation being addressed ton HIM I am going with the idea that Sauli wanted to enjoy an event that was HIS without his boyfriend potentially overshadowing him. It seems to me that Sauli is making sure that his life in LA is not all about Adam which I think is a very healthy attitude. |

Thanks, lynne! hell, I'd flirt too esp. if I were as young and pretty as she was and he was flirting back. I mean, seriously, when would you ever get THAT opportunity again. Gah!!! Next year and the year after that and....  LOL and if I were that lucky young lady, I 'd make damn sure I got an interview this time around, too. And, I'll bet Adam will remember her as well.  I met Adam at the barricades after the Houston concert; I mean, when he got to me, I was close enough I could have grabbed him and dragged his cute arse across the barricades and taken him away, but that was the first time I had been that close to him and it just sort of stopped me in my tracks. When he looked at me and smiled, I turned into a puddle of goo. I did manage, however, when he returned the autographed paper to me (and smiled again  ), to thank him for coming outside to sign since he was probably very tired (it had been a long trip from Illinois to Dallas and then down to Houston) and he said "aww; you're welcome!" Gah The only thing I remember about driving home that night (50 miles) was that his bus was beside me all the way. Even that was sort of surreal. Great memories. |

Sauli probably just wanted to be able to speak Finnish all night and not have to worry about speaking English for Adam. And Adam is probably busy right now rehearsing and getting everything ready for promo. |

I thought maybe it was a good thing Adam didn't go, giving Sauli a chance to do his own networking without the limelight being shifted to AFL. Absolutely- Adam knows full well that his presence can turn an event into a circus and probably did not want anything even resembling that to happen at this type of event. I know I and my husband are not joined at the hip and never have been. I do not go to his job related activities and he never went to mine. We've been known to do separate family visiting on holidays as well- blasphemy to some I know but I see no problem with partners doing things on their own. They're still separate people LOL. This was my DH and I. Sauli and Adam probably discussed it and determined the best option. HAPPY BIRTHDAY STARDUST, MAXMOM61, AND FRANSNAZZXO !!!Stardust, I think the perfect gift for a numbers kind of person is info. Come on Adam, info for stardust please. I am not asking for me you understand, that would be selfish but stardust, maxmom61, and fransnazzxo deserve it. |

ITA with your thoughts, Lynne and Buders. I know a lot of couples who give their SO and "out" from work-related or schmoozy events. My office party's was yesterday and it's employees only. We had a newlywed working for us a few years ago and she refused to go to events where her husband couldn't go. (Not that he'd be barred or anything, but seems like he'd feel awkward being the only spouse there.) I looked at her like, "Really? Why would you want to force him to go someplace he might feel uncomfortable when it's not necessary?"
My guess about TrevorProject may have been that Adam was in rehearsals OR he is avoiding any contact with the press knowing all these things are in the works and he doesn't want to risk saying too much or outright lie to keep everything under wraps.
