Wow, Alison. That's just plain sick. I don't want to start a political conversation, but have Republicans always been so openly pro-Christian. I've only paid attention to the politics and how someone says they would run our country (even though few promises are kept). Anyone who has followed politics for a while - PM me please. I'm really curious and don't remember these types of adds being the norm. Regarding the Christmas is repressed issue. I'm an athiest, but love Christmas. It's more about Santa and Rudolph and the feel good idea of the whole thing for me. We happen to live in an Orthodox Jewish neighborhood. I decorate my house to the nines inside and out. As the Jews are walking by our house on Saturday mornings, a lot of them stop and tell me how they love our decorations. It doesn't offend them in the least. Our neighbor puts up a Sukkah every year. They invite us over. We go. Live and let live. There recently was a big to-do about a town where they decided to call their tree a Holiday Tree. It's a fucking Christmas tree people! Other religions don't put up trees. There was a town meeting to change the name back to Christmas tree and people of all religions showed up in support of that. A Jew was quoted in the paper as saying that they don't expect a menorah to be called Holiday Candles. IMO it's more about our society's ridiculous political correctness. They didn't change the name because anyone of other religions complained. It was done solely not to offend anyone. Ridiculous! Sorry for the OT rant. Back to not so patiently waiting for the single. Haha!! ITA, although as Murly said, I think a name is just a name. Christmas trees have nothing to do with Christianity, they originated with Paganism and were adopted, like so many things, from various other religions/traditions. I'm not religious, but also love the holidays. But I love everyone's holidays and understanding the proper greetings and how they're celebrated. I soooo don't get the divisiveness of "you're celebrations are different than my celebrations." Who cares?! Live and learn and take in a different culture. Look how many people who aren't Catholic flock to Mardi Gras and Carnivale every year? (Okay, there may be other reasons for that ;D) And truth be told, I don't see myself planning a vacation to visit a country during a holiday where fasting is involved So sad that there was no dreidel song :-/ I remember it so fondly from my childhood. Rick Perry, STFU, you hateful, hateful man and if you think The Children aren't allowed to celebrate Christmas, you're out of your everlovin' mind. When we don't learn at an early age to acknowledge that our beliefs/traditions aren't the only important ones, then we grow up to have a society of close-minded, ignorant people. Can you image how a child at school feels when they have to sing 10 Christmas songs and none from the celebration their family believes in? I get that this is life, but it sends a clear message--to that child and more importantly, to the others, of what's worth celebrating. I am not asking you (or me!) to stop saying "Christmas", just that we shouldn't act like everyone celebrates it or that it is any more important than anyone else's traditions. I think this issue is extremely ON TOPIC because it is just one more example of how people are brought up to not accept what they are not familiar with, whether that be Jews, homosexuals, flamboyancy, or what not. ps. I LOVE FRECKLES!

Okei Susiefierce. Pull myself together. Thank you for your compassion . I remember that somewhere said, that ' THE DAY' is the same day throughout the world, and the time is running out for the day (here in Finland it's 7.15 p.m). Probable/certainly/hopefully it means your time USA.

I have done this so many times that I now have a quick sure-fire method to determine if there is any BTIKM news: - Open Adamtopia
- Only new posts are in Daily Thread
- Nothing new posted by wal under TRESSPASSING or Adam News Archives
- Dejectedly know that nothing has leaked or Adam has not tweeted
- Read new Daily Thread posts anyway because I just like you guys

I am just going to step into the Christmas discussion to mention that as a teacher, in CA, I "taught" the holidays every year. It was actually part of our Social Studies program in CA first grade. We did Hannukah, Christmas, Kwanza, and others. The children LOVED it! I taught in a school with a high Mexican American population so the kids were mostly Catholic. They had so much fun learning about what other people do for the holidays. Playing the Dreidel game and eating Latkes were among their favorite activities. We dealt with the customs and not the religion. Never, in 12 years at first grade, did we ever have a parent complaint.

www.ourstage.com/blog/2011/12/9/sound-vision-hard-times-for-tv-launched-pop-stars-can-adam-lambert-save-them-allSound & Vision: Hard Times for TV-Launched Pop Stars — Can Adam Lambert Save Them All? There's quite a bit before they get to Adam ... Perhaps it’s a matter of image or rather, a lack of it. In this age of Lady Gaga and LMFAO, it’s all about flashy personas and expensive beats. Unless your name is Adele, it’s harder to get by primarily on a great voice, which is what the bulk of these singers try to do and why Adam Lambert, who has a flamboyant stage presence to match his vocal power, might not have anything to worry about when he returns next spring with Trespassing, his second album.
Maybe a lack of mystique is also to blame. It’s easier for fans to look up to Rihanna and Katy Perry as rare deities when the early chapters of their rise happened offscreen. Watching a singer from a TV star search trying to make it after the finale is like watching a sitcom star trying to transition into movies. Often it’s easier to accept them in the medium in which we were first introduced to them. Why pay money for them when we used to get them for free?
With Idol entering its eleventh season in January, the novelty of watching a star being born may simply be wearing off. It still makes for great television, but after watching contestants singing other people’s songs for weeks, it’s harder to invest in them singing original music. It’s like when the Glee kids started performing non-covers that nobody had ever heard. In the eyes and ears of the downloading public, “Loser Like Me” will never be “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
Of course, all it takes is one complete package to turn everything around. For the most part, the stars of Idol and its offshoots arrive on the scene selling talent, not a highly marketable image, which, unfortunately, is 75 % of the pop-star formula. A performer as talented, dynamic and attention-grabbing as Adam Lambert could reverse the downward trend—at least for one album cycle. TY for posting, I loved it, so many good points
