I'd call that hysterical, not OT! Covers two of Adam's points of minority. And as a Christmas celebrator myself, I am pretty sick of those that think Christmas is so repressed. Good god, are they deaf, dumb and blind!!! Went to my kid's recorder club concert at (public) school last night--not a dreidel song to be heard....sad. Wow, Alison. That's just plain sick. I don't want to start a political conversation, but have Republicans always been so openly pro-Christian. I've only paid attention to the politics and how someone says they would run our country (even though few promises are kept). Anyone who has followed politics for a while - PM me please. I'm really curious and don't remember these types of adds being the norm. Regarding the Christmas is repressed issue. I'm an athiest, but love Christmas. It's more about Santa and Rudolph and the feel good idea of the whole thing for me. We happen to live in an Orthodox Jewish neighborhood. I decorate my house to the nines inside and out. As the Jews are walking by our house on Saturday mornings, a lot of them stop and tell me how they love our decorations. It doesn't offend them in the least. Our neighbor puts up a Sukkah every year. They invite us over. We go. Live and let live. There recently was a big to-do about a town where they decided to call their tree a Holiday Tree. It's a fucking Christmas tree people! Other religions don't put up trees. There was a town meeting to change the name back to Christmas tree and people of all religions showed up in support of that. A Jew was quoted in the paper as saying that they don't expect a menorah to be called Holiday Candles. IMO it's more about our society's ridiculous political correctness. They didn't change the name because anyone of other religions complained. It was done solely not to offend anyone. Ridiculous! Sorry for the OT rant. Back to not so patiently waiting for the single.

Well, I think we'll still get the press release today. Adam tweeted "any day now" and I can't imagine he meant next week. Also, it's only 6am on the West Coast. I think they'll release when everyone is awake! Maybe 12 EST? *eternaloptimist* 8-) I'm only annoyed that I can't hang around and play today. I would guess not before 10 Pacific time because Hollywood does not wake up that early. Of course, it is just a guess. ETA: Susie's guess of around 11 Pacific time sounds perfect. It can't be much later because then it would almost be too late on the East Coast and EU time zones.

They are comparing both songs, because they are both by Adam and BTIKM is probably more similar to WWFM than to FYE and IIHY. I don't know, why you don't like WWFM, but I don't think this comparison means anything. I think it would bother me if they would compare his song to other artists, like "It sounds like ... meets ... meets ...". Close to 2 million liked WWFM enough to buy it and that is a VERY good thing! If BTIKM sells 2 million, I will be very, very happy! BUT, I do not expect BTIKM to sound like WWFM. I think they are just using it as a comparison for vocals and perhaps tempo. I am still expecting a Dub Step in the new single!(yes, dub step can be mid tempo) and I am expecting a club sound. Yes, I am! Mys*&@^#r, I'm expecting the same sound -- like some, WWFM was not one of my favorites either, so I'm looking forward to a little more dancey/clubby version. I am not good at identifying dubstep, but would the Aftermath remix be qualified as midtempo? Was there a little dubstep in that?

From Sauli's blog:
OK, this I am anxious to hear more of because it looks like he may have been at a Community College very close to me that specializes in training animal trainers. They have a small Zoo of very tame wild animals. It is in Moorpark, CA and is 20 minutes from my house. It is 1 mile from my daughter's house! Ooooo, anxious to hear more about this!

I'm an atheist, too, and for awhile I wondered if I shouldn't train myself to call the holiday something other than "Christmas." Winterfest? Festivus? Saturnalia? (That's the ancient Roman holiday from which Christians took many of their Christmas traditions.) Then I realized--my Christian neighbors don't believe in Thor, but when the fifth day of the week rolls around, they still call it Thursday. A name is just a collection of letters and sounds. Christmas it is. Hey, are there any Husbands fans here? Yes, I am! I won't be surprised by Dubstep, too. And I also think glamazon maybe was not a troll, because everyone discribes music different. Only if the song has no Dubstep, then we can clearly say he was a troll.

I agree, aralid. I think he was an overly enthusiastic intern that got carried away with the attention he was getting on Twitter. And you are right, if there is no dub step, then he was indeed a troll. Alison, I would describe Dub Step as kind of a stutter in the beat. It is hard to explain, but when I hear it, I like it! BTIKM demo had a bridge that was all instrumental, no vocals at all. This is where I am expecting the Dub Step, on the revamped version, and also some beautiful wailing vocals.
