I personally hope so too. If the song is being released 12/18 this will be a critical time. He should be doing all the promo possible. (I don't want to be telling him how to live his life  but that seems a given to me.) In fact I'm not even clear on how he can be in China when the single is released. I know that event was planned previously but still..... Maybe someone can clear up my thinking on this. I could be too influenced by wanking on twitter. LOL I'm liking this idea more and more. ;D ;D Simon used to fly back and forth from London to L.A. every week when he was judging both XFactors Oops! I meant XF UK and "American Idol." LAX to London is about 11.5 hours. LAX to Shanghai is 13.5 hours direct (yes, I looked :  He can pre-tape interviews with the major stations – Ryan, Elvis Duran, Kid Kraddick, etc. It's not ideal, but certainly can be, and is often, done to run on radio Monday morning. And sorry for being political, but the right wing is who have attacked gays and made it one of the primary the platforms of the Republican party and the rhetoric they use is most definitely hateful. YMMV, but no rationalizations and "my best friend is gay" defenses while you are making it your party's primary cause to deny civil rights to a huge segment of the citizenry will not come across as hateful. That was the "separate but equal" rationalization in the '60s. It was blatant racism then, whereas this is a blatant attack on an entire minority. Adam's already pre-taped 2 radio interviews that he's told us about. He could also be interviewed live from China via phone. But yes - it's all very awkward, imo. If he releases the single Sun. night to be ready for the early Mon. morning radio, but that very same Mon. he's in China, which actually means, with all the flights, also the day before and the day after. But the big question for me is, whether the single hasn't been delayed again. On Wed. Adam tweeted that he'll have details any day now, so if he doesn't tweet any details today, I'll take it to mean there's another delay. Which will make me >:(  >:( I'm sooo hoping I'm wrong. |

I can't believe they are changing promo plans now because of the China gig. It's not like they just found out yesterday and have to scramble. This has been in the works a long time. It appears that RCA is really pushing this single so I want to believe that there is a very good reason for the timing and lack of information. I remind myself that we are not dealing with amateurs in the business. I don't understand why people are assuming that promo plans have changed because of the Amway gig. I think this event has been in the works for a while and is completely separate from anything else. Seems like the promo was affected by something we don't yet know about-- which is why the UK article got moved forward, etc. I don't think Shanghai has anything to do with the promo changes. It's just that WE just found out and/or remembered about this gig. So the speculation began! IMO, there is no way Adam will perform his album at this private gig. I would expect him to do OOL, WWFM. IIHY, and probably some covers. And, the new single but only if it is out by then. Private gigs are usually short, no more than 45 minutes. And like Susie said, over to Shanghai and back would not be that difficult. Plus, doesn't he gain a day when he comes back? Oh, one more thing, Kelly did all her radio promo the week of the single by phone. Probably many were prerecorded. I strongly disagree with the conservative right-wing hate and all they stand for. I can how ever separate their hate as group from individual people. I have family members who I see has misguided and not hateful. They really worry about the souls of those they perceive as sinners. When you live in fear of hell and condemnation you are easily sucked in by the message of wanting to save and convert the gays. Misguided is the term I would use as well ... not everyone is "hateful" just because they don't see things the same way we do ... hateful is the Westboro group who want to do actual harm. And just because the "right wing conservative party" takes a particular stand doesn't mean that all Republicans agree with every plank in the platform ... any more than all Catholics refrain from using birth control ... or all Jews refrain from eating pork ... j/s |

Reading Glitterma's wonderful GNT posts this morning got me reminiscing about the GNT shows I attended and especially about the KFEST music festival. I dropped my camera just as Fever was starting so I didn't get to video it like I did all the other songs. During Fever Adam made a silly gesture, as he does quite often, that really made me giggle and I was so disappointed that I didn't get it on my camera. After the concert I was checking the pictures that my niece took with her camera (she was under strict instructions by me to take still pictures during the concert LOL) and she had captured the exact moment I giggled about!!! Does anyone have a link to a video of Fever from that show? I've never seen one and would love to. PS: I also have had difficultly with the site over the past few days. I found two videos, but the sound on them is so bad, you can't hear a thing. And there's another one, which is only 42 sec., but it includes the gesture you liked: |

I really have tried to stay away from the political conversations here. I am not comfortable with any LABELS. I find them narrowing and trying to put people in the 'DREADED LITTLE BOX'. I keep thinking about Adam's words and when I hear labels attached to someone/group I keep thinking...LABELS don't define who we are...we are all so much more than a label. There are so many different levels inside each of us to celebrate.
I'm fine with this gig Adam might be doing. Let the people feel Adam's magic and maybe he can awaken some 'understanding' in some at this party that we are all brother's and sister's trying to enjoy life in this world.

I kind of doubt he'll tweet date on the weekend, but he DID tweet the title on Saturday, didn't he? My guess, is the "delay" of not releasing the press release yesterday, which obviously some of the Sony arms thought was going to happen, and Toby Knapp definitely did, is because there are a few ducks that just weren't lined up yet. One of those major ducks could be the viability of AO. We know damn well we can crash it with half of fandom tied behind our backs at this point. Whether they are building and preparing to launch a whole new site or a majorly re-vamped site (like they did with Kelly and Daughtry) or just trying to beef up the capacity as it exists right now, we all know that I.T. can be a BIG wrench in the plans of any major campaign. Maybe they didn't want to announce the date without being able to do the whole enchilada – snippet, live stream, cover art, etc. Just a footnote, I tweeted Shirley Halperin very nicely yesterday to see if she had any information. She is usually very responsive and has answered me about something before. She didn't respond. This may or may not mean anything, but I am sticking with my guess that she may have an exclusive about the launch plans. Didn't her DMG article come out on the weekend? Actually, going by memory only, but didn't a few of her major articles come out on weekends. I'm thinking of the interview with Peter Edge and Tom Corson, in particular. |

Yes, a few articles have come out on the weekend from THR. With the inernet, I don't even think the "weekend" exists anymore! LOL! And your thoughts about Shirley, having an exclusive, are GOLD!
As far as Adam tweeting the titles on a Saturday, I think that was just because he was waiting someplace and killing time.
So I not so patiently wait!
That being said, if there is no news this week, it may put me over the edge. (No, I am not quite there yet!)
