melliemom Agree with everything you said. It's so disappointing. Velvet is at least as good if not better than this other stuff. If the pandemic didn't hit we'll never know if it would have been different. Then Shosh tweeted something about having fun promoting John legend's album during the pandemic. So that got me irritated all over again. Oh well- Pride live looks like so much fun. Onward and upward!

Very cool that someone will win a chance to hang out with Adam at the Stonewall event! Nice prize to get! It's a relief to see Adam actually talking again and sending out a message. And yes, he does look absolutely fabulous!
melliemom, I agree with you 100%. The irony is that Adam's music gets really good reviews in publications like Rolling Stone and others. The critics like his music a lot. He gets a lot of praise and respect. The problem is that he can't break through that wall to get radio play and broader exposure of his music. It's not the music itself that's the issue. It's how music is chosen to be heard by the media. And it's the power of major labels to influence what is heard. I'm not dissing any artist who gets lots of awards. Good for them. Winning awards opens lots of doors and legitimizes your status in the industry. They make you "ok to be liked." Adam is lucky to have such a loyal fanbase that supports him through all phases of his career. Other big name singers praise his talent. It's that tightly closed door that doesn't allow his music to get broad exposure that is the big mystery.

When Blue Ivy,Beyonce's daughter, won a Grammy I was that's it the Grammy's are not worth my time..When Harry wore two ruffles(feather boas)you know what.. Adam did this years ago.. what's all the fuss and he won a Grammy. for Watermelon Quite honestly,the fact that Adam's great album Velvet was up for nothing and his music is never recognized by the Grammys .. I am so upset once again this year that I had trouble getting out of bed this morning...I'm just sooo tired. I'm happy that Adam has seemed to move on with all his charities and his new musical that he is writing.. but I simply can't get over the slights.. grrrrrrrr Thank goodness Cher,Queen,Pink and tons of others who know better give him the kudos he deserves. I just had to vent,I'm better now.Now to contribute to Feel Something.....DONE Yes it is frustrating about Velvet cause it is so good. But pop is a hard category to compete and pretty much out of reach for an indie artist with no big label. Indies have a better shot in the less competitive categories like rock and alt. Even artists on major labels like John Legend (who won again last night) and has won 9 times, many of them are in the less competitive categories. Yes Harry can win in pop and wear a boa but he is all over the radio here and abroad. And tho I think the Weeknd was snubbed, it is hard for me to feel sorry for someone who has 3 Grammy's and 10 nominations. 5 Ama's and 9 Billboard awards. He is all over the radio, SNL and award shows and did the SB. Adam didn't get massive radio play when he was on a major (but much better than now) so hardly anyone even hears his music but us fans. When he was with a major, they could get him on the radio internationally but that has pretty much gone away as an indie too. I really can't wait for him to get back on the road where he is appreciated. |

That Gucci velvet blazer is to die for. So classy. Adam wears Gucci so well. And Adam's eyes are perfecto! He looks spectacular.
Just want to hear his voice again, speaking, laughing, singing. Whatever. He must be doing something worthy of being absent for so long. Hope so.
