Me again. OT, if not appropriate, please delete. I think I recall someone asking about which Queen album would be the best to buy. Being a huge Freddie Mercury fan, I have a couple suggestions that a true fan should have. The last studio album Queen did before Freddie died, was called 'Innuendo' ... this was the one with 'The Show Must Go On.' He died 10 months later. Interesting Wikipedia entry on the album: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Innuendo_%28album%29 Another recommendation is a solo effort Freddie did with the opera singer Monserrat Caballe. He had always admired her and wanted to do a collaboration. The whole album "Barcelona" (where she was from) is magnificent. He died in '91 ... but it was used as the theme for the 1992 Olympics held in Barcelona. I tear up everytime I hear it. They became fast friends til he died. She sang at his memorial. One of the songs on the album: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqU_e8RQe7A&feature=youtube_gdata_player And the title song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHRd0R-uKHc&feature=related

Palladia is part of almost every HDTV cable package in the US -- it is 1080i an is the one to record. So not really obscure -- just has a high number on Comcast, Time Warner and other cable systems because it is with the HD channels. Well now that you bring it up, this is actually a question I have had for a long time. How do these 10 gazillion channels actually make it? I am not remotely close to either the TV business or the advertising business and as little TV as I watch, I have no idea what viewership such channels have and if you say they are more known and watched than I think, I totally take your word for it. Well, actually that's a lie, I did not do that, because now you peeked my curiosity and so I started googling...wanted to know what ratings such a channel has that I so loosely and ignorantly declared to be obscure. Could not find anything useful, except this quote talking about HD networks in general, but specifically mentioning Palladia (which is why google found it): "None of the HD networks in this story are rated by Nielsen Media Research because of their limited distribution, and most target fairly broad audiences. But as they expand their distribution and get more viewer feedback, it is likely that they will have to target more specific demographics." That's from this article: www.multichannel.com/article/277511-Defining_High_Definition_TV.phpAlready then - not obscure channel, just undefined and unrated. My question is: How on earth do these gazillion channels on my TV get any viewers? How do they find willing advertisers? Hurrah, you can advertise with us and 5 Glamberts and 10 other channel surfers will probably watch it.....? Oh, and this question is of course totally linked to Adam, because the US urgently needs AL7X24HD added to regular cable programming packages and I am just getting started on doing my market research.

The gazillion US cable channels are mostly parts of big networks --- For example --- Disney-ABC Television Group is comprised of (list here): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney-ABC_Television_Group Viacom owns Comedy Central, Logo, BET, Spike, TV Land, Nick@Nite, Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nick Jr., MTV, VH1, MTV2, Tr3́s, CMT, Palladia Successful cable channels have clearly defined target audiences and advertisers what to buy these narrow segments. When you do a media plan, you decide which TV and other media will most effectively and efficiently deliver your message to your target customer. TV channels get viewers by advertising and promoting their programs -- and they are very high spending advertisers. For example, in movie theater advertising is dominated by TV programing ads.
