Question:
Why are the numbers for the singles from 1/30 but the CD numbers are from 2/23? Is that because the CD #'s come from BM?
I thought sales for WWFM were higher than 1.654. No?

Question: Why are the numbers for the singles from 1/30 but the CD numbers are from 2/23? Is that because the CD #'s come from BM? The dates on the charts don't necessarily match each other because - yep - the original charts were generated off Brian Mansfield's figures and he published different numbers on different days. Now the dates are just "Excel cell + 7", and any figure that comes in is placed on the row closest to that date (without going over). Most of the lastest numbers that came in from RCAEd were on 2/4, so they're stuck on the row based on Jan 30th as they were too early to make the next week's accounting (which would have started 2/5). We got a new number for the album - and just the album - on 2/23 so that chart got an update for that date. These days, I try to mark on the comments line who is spouting the latest number (Mansfield, RCAEd, etc) since not everyone is working on exactly the same baseline (remixes, no remixes, real data, rounded data, etc). ETA: Hmm.... Looking back, did I actually answer the question you were trying to ask??

Here's an explanation from a poster, at Brian's. But I'm not quite sure I understand it completely. I saw that but really didn't understand it either. Hope Q3 can clarify for us. I think Mansfield just mentioned that to explain how he suddently got the numbers (he has access to that chart.) After the blacklash Billboard recieved when MJ's albums at the top of the catalog chart sold more than then BB Top 200 #1 album, they changed the rules and now albums can be at the catalog chart & BB Top 200 at the same chart week if they sell enough.

Thanks, brb! Nice that he could get Adams #s there.
