Mercury goes out of retrograde motion at one moment in time that is experienced as different times in the different time zones.
In case you want to party here are the times in the US time zones:
EST 20:40 (8:40 PM)
CST 19:40
MST 18:40
PST 17:40
It takes Mercury around a day to adjust to its "new direction" and for that time frame when it is changing it is SUPER powerful as it is virtually motionless. However, sorry to tell you, but the whole retrograde thing is an optical illusion based on observing the planets from earth. They actually NEVER move backward. It is like the train thing - you are in a faster moving train coming up to a slower moving train. It seems like that train is moving slower and slower and a moment comes when you are right along side it and it looks like it is not moving at all. This is a parallel illusion.
The fact that it doesn't actually occur is not relevant as astrology is based on observation from earth of planetary phenomena that create an impression on the observer which gets passed on as the basic tenants of the various astrological traditions. In the best of these traditions, these basic tenants reflect the laws of nature at the moment and are able to be interpret those laws on all levels of reality including our human condition.
