I just checked ITunes and Amazon.. outside of Michael Buble chart topper album of Xmas songs.. POP singles on top are not christmas songs. Of course.. The Beiber will wipe everyone away but it will probably be his album rather than a single. One can only hope that RCA has this down .The thing is will the radio stations play Adam's new single at this time of year? How much Xmas music can a girl take????? I think it is possible peeps will latch on as a great escape. Sure hope so!!!!!!! I know I will!!!!!!!! |

This release is getting a little strange, first people tweet its this week then it changes again till next week. What can be going on that there are so many sudden changes in this release. I stopped counting how many times its changed, the radio stations all have it ready to go. Is this normal?

Until something is said by Adam I don't care how many tweets there are speculating as far as I'm concerned nothing new has happened.
As for releasing the song before the holidays it makes sense to me considering the week AFTER Christmas is actually as big or bigger for music sales as the week of Thanksgiving. Gift cards galore. With the right television exposure it could be very smart timing. People are fatigued with Christmas music at this point and releasing something that's new and fresh is always a good idea.

Brought this over from last night discussion: Very interesting. I had noticed previously that other singers doing the song with Queen not only lowered the key, but also did not do the melody line in the chorus, but left it to the (female?) back up singers. As to the high note in that song..... obviously this was recorded before Brian had heard Adam. The note is a D5, just a little over an octave above middle C. That is a piece of cake for Adam. It is the same note that he holds forever at the end of the live version of Feeling Good. He can, and has on many times, hit notes 5 steps higher than that. So, if Freddy was extraordinary, I guess that would make Adam extraordinary-er. His high notes are also fuller and more naturally resonant. j/s Cassie, I think as I remembered from the DDD discussion, Freddie and Adam has almost the same vocal range. And Freddie's lowest range's 1 octave lower than Adam's and Adam's highest range's 1 octave higher than Freddie. Did I remember this correctly? (trying to find their vocal range thread) I am not a Freddie expert, but from what I have heard and seen on YT, his lowest notes sung were about 3 notes lower than the lowest notes I have heard Adam sing. On the other end, I have heard Adam sing about three notes higher than what is quoted as Freddie's high notes. From what I have read, Freddie was a baritone, while we know that Adam is a tenor. Freddie damaged his voice singing too much and/or without proper technique, and in concert in his later years, changed up the melodies and avoided the higher notes, leaving them to a back up singer or 20. That is always my fear for Adam, except that he seems to take very good care of his voice, he is diligent in his vocal warm ups, refuses to sing when asked if his voice is not warmed up, and I have never heard him strain his voice on the highest notes. I have discussed this with Angelina, the opera singer, and she has reassured me that Adam is singing properly and is not hurting his voice, even with the rock gravel he sometimes adds. Whew! |
