Maybe this will help? Thanks. I have seen that before, but look at it rather skeptically, since I have never heard Adam sing anything close to a D2 at the bottom of his range. Don't know where the guys got that.... I know some count the "note" of someone's speaking voice, and some count background harmonies that may or may not be the singer in question. As always, for me it comes back to USABLE range, not absolute range one can squawk or squeak or croak. Adam's USABLE range, where he can sustain a note with tone is still damned impressive.

Maybe this will help? I looked but can't find the chart at DDD. New computer and I don't have my old bookmarks. Do you have the link, please? Thank you, in advance.

Freddy and Adam have similar audience effects and connection but they are quite different as vocalists. I think Adam has more power and control. But he does not use as broad of a vocal range as Freddy. (I believe that Adam doesn't focus on his range but on conveying emotional range.) Freddy Mercury documented vocal range is F2 to E6, There are some sources who say D2 to F6 but I can't find recordings of the claimed D2. Adam's vocal range is Bb2 to B5. (Cassie correct me if this is wrong.) I have heard the Bb2. I have heard the Bb5 (not B5.). So, I will agree with you there. (However, both those notes were just touched on for less than a second, so, I am not ready to say they are in his usable register. Yeah, I am picky about that.) I have heard him confidently and proudly sing from C3, one step above that bottom note, to A5, one step below the highest note attributed to him. I emphasize "usable" because I am not as interested in setting records as in the sound and effectiveness of the notes. Freddie has this strange sort of "whistle" range at the very top that is, to me, just freaky sounding, like a bird whistle. But, practically speaking, in full voice, he tops out at F5. And, later in his career, he could not perform that live. To my ears, Adam has more power, resonance and sustain on the high notes. And definitely more control. He also has more diversity in his tone and approach which lets him paint an emotional sound in a song, and makes him sound good in a variety of genres. Freddy's voice to me is more "one note" in its colors and shades, if you know what I mean. The comparisons are fun to make, but in the end, it comes down to Which singer's voice one prefers. And, the reputation and legacy of the singer. Adam is just starting out there. We have yet to see how far he will go.

This is a prime example of what I was talking about with his ability to change the tone/style of his voice. When he is emulating the gay men's chorus, those notes sound like a deep, rich, low baritone. If you check it against a keyboard, tho', the lowest note is only F3. In Aftermath live he actually sings 2.5 tones lower on the phrase "Have you lost your wa-AY." He just uses a very different tone and resonance. Don't you love it?
