Sounds good to me, Chunky!! I sorta think he is in a place where if he holds hands and/or kisses a guy, some people will be mad if he does and some people will be mad if he doesn't. So they will have to walk a tricky line. Should be interesting because it is personal and relationship oriented, so he can't just dance in the forest. I can hardly wait. I think he should do whatever he wants. Agree. He has learned and matured so much performance-wise and audience-wise in the last two years - I hope he does what he is comfortable doing for the video audience. Just don't go all AMA tho. ;D

I think he should do whatever he wants. I'm with ya. This pretty much captured my very conflicted feelings on the subject: It's a tough one and he's definitely going to have to make his own decisions on the matter. He's worked so hard on this and so hard to put himself on the precipice of being in the upper echelons of pop artists and he knows every way he brands himself can make the difference of people accepting or not. And he has positioned himself not as a Gay Artist, but as a mainstream artist who happens to be gay. He makes a statement by living his life every single day. Does he need to make a Capital-S Statement with every creative endeavor? That expectancy in itself lends itself to creating yet another box for him. Bottom line, it will be for him alone to decide and you're right, Stardust, he's going to be damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Very powerful videos can be made without a dramatization of the love interest. "Someone Like You" used no flashbacks or narratives, but it is still heartbreaking in its loneliness and vulnerability. I also agree with you, Chunkey, that once he does breakthrough and becomes an undeniable star, he could start dirty dancing with nekkid dudes and no one will care, but the scales just need to tip in his direction first.

chunkey I am really curious to see what he does with this vid. I'm kinda wanting him to stay away from black and white and broodily gazing at snow melting in the gutter or whatever if only because it's a little too much like WWFM and Adele's Someone Like You video. I wonder about clips from a life together, kind of like that Oz gay marriage video, but only seeing the partner at the end, or some kind of an entirely unexpected narrative (though the song is pretty serious and hard to cast as about anything other than a love story). Or here's my completely off the wall idea. It actually takes place around a movie theater or some dark room where Adam is watching a combination of home videos and clips of classic movie love stories/bromances/partnerships through time. We could have Say Anything, Amelie's date, Hepburn and Tracey, Xavier and Magneto, Leo's Romeo with Claire Danes' Juliet, Mickey and Mallory (or Bonnie and Clyde), Jack and Ennis, I dunno lol. I know in vids like Raise Your Glass and Firework the stories implicit in the song are often told in a series of vignettes with different groups actors playing out little slices of life, both gay and straight. Instead I'd like to see a video using cultural touchstones for romance, partnerships, and love/hate relationships from the movies because it would be more evocative. But getting usage rights could be really expensive and troublesome so this is really just a day dream, lol. And of course it would all be intercut with clips of Adam looking beautiful singing or visiting the video store or whatever.

I have friends who didn't know anything about Adam, but after the EMA performance they all knew him and praised his voice. So I guess the EMA thing was very important for Adam in the whole Europe. The fact is, of course, that my friends were young at the 1970´s. My son is in his early teens and his friends acknowledged Adam from EMA, got a lots of appreciation. Yes! And..... ^^ Exactly!^^^ I am not going to underestimate what that Queen performance did for him. I would bet there are even some DJs and PDs that were not on the Lambert train previously, that said, "Holy Crap!" after that performance!

I love the way your mind works Chunkey! IMO it would be fabulous to see him grab a hot fwinks hand and walk away with a big ass, shit eating grin on his face right at the end, but then I would also be on team hecanbehumpingthehellouttawhoeverthefuckhewants. I'm kinda easy like that! Will never understand why anyone else cares about the private lives of others.
How come no one is giggling about his sriracha tweet? Cracked me the fuck up. Been there... done that. LOL

I also think the Queen performance has helped Adam gain credibility. RCA thinks it's important enough to be mentioned by that King Joe guy and in their press release.

I think the idea of vignettes of all types of relationships could be amazing too. Or like what Pink did with "Fucking Perfect" where she told the story, but was not the lead in the video.

I think the EMA performance with Queen was pivotal!! ....and if we're talking about its credence with young people - it was the ONLY thing concerning Adam which has ever piqued my 24 year old son's interest. Even my daughter, who's 21 and into hip hop and urban music was impressed. RabbitRabbit I like your video scenario.

That's what I see. Vignettes of peoples' relationships. I can also see Adam doing "touring" vignettes. Him on the bus, alone, etc. Then at the very end a photo of a dude, like maybe Sauli!! Or even coming home to a house that somehow they convey is not empty. ;D
