Finally dipping my toes and am a little bit scared . . .be kind. Family loves Adam (I was a disinterested observer) but today, I had to check what all the commotion was about. I seem to remember the going rate for the Idols was $0.09/Itunes song. However, I do think the song writer can make close to the singer in royalties. Q3 knows better than me. I remember hearing that NAL was making more that Adam due to writing more of the songs on his album. I think songwriters do pretty well. I just can't imagine how a radio station can afford to pay $0.13 per play just to the song writer. That's a LOT of $$$. I've advertised on radio, the ads are spendy, but they aren't THAT expensive. More than a few people have probs with decimals & %. Would $0.013 (1 3/10 cents) per spin make more sense? Talking about numbers and having no sense of them, I'm totally ignorant about adds & spins. ok guys got a question for you....
In reading a few other boards, I keep hearing that this is a HAC song, but maybe not a pop song. I rather disagree with this mostly because it is sung like a pop song and it has a distinctive beat to it. Its not uptempo, but every song on CHR doesn't need to be uptempo.
I'm curious of the opinions of those who listen to top 40 on a regular basis. I can hear this on my top 40 station. I'm starting to second guess myself now.
