That's funny because I just checked that thread and it is majority positive. Very little negative at all. Alright. Got it. Lesson learned. Never believe ANYONE. Can I come out of the penalty box now? Not picking on you, I was just totally surprised by your comment because I had literally just read the Pulse thread and was coming back to ATOP and thinking about posting how the comments were mostly positive. Believe me compared to the Kelly thread for MKIA this one is glowing. The Pulse thread for Kelly's song has been gloom and doom from day one in spite of the fact that the song has climbed as high as #11 on POP. The BTIKM thread has mostly positive comments and especially one poster (Adam fan) that was meh on WWFM and eewww on IIHY but loves this one. She in particular was so negative about IIHY that people kept accusing her of being a troll. |

I don't hear any *rock*. I think pop with a slight urban flava is a pretty spot on description. The synths and production are super poppy while the way he inflects some of the words and the piano call to mind a lite r&b vibe. But to me a percussive backbeat does not equal *rock* but to each their own =) I hear rock in the chorus. That's when the guitars kick in. ETA: Just so I don't leave out any music genre. I'm sorry guys, but I can't help it. I want so much success for him and as an Adam fan, if I don't care for the song, how is John or Joan Q Public going to perceive it. I'm sorry it just doesn't grab me, and I am so worried it is not going to grab the public where he needs sales and a new audience. I hope I eat my words !!!!!!!!!! |

It is getting mostly good response -- and the target is the same people who love Bruno Mars -- 15 to 25ish girls. I am sure it will be a hit. ETA: This is the lead single that RCA A&R picked for him -- they also picked WWFM. I trust them and I also am convinced that it is not representative of the album -- just like WWFM was not like the rest of FYE. |

From what I can see, John and Joan Q Public like the song. DJs like the song. Sony likes the song. And ADAM believes in the song. Adam will never put out a song everybody likes. But if enough do, and if he gets the right support and radio play, he has a hit on his hands. |

ok guys got a question for you.... In reading a few other boards, I keep hearing that this is a HAC song, but maybe not a pop song. I rather disagree with this mostly because it is sung like a pop song and it has a distinctive beat to it. Its not uptempo, but every song on CHR doesn't need to be uptempo. I'm curious of the opinions of those who listen to top 40 on a regular basis. I can hear this on my top 40 station. I'm starting to second guess myself now. All I know is that when I tuned into Hot 99.5 this aft (Toby Knapp's CHR station in DC) they were playing Lady Antebellum. So if they can play that ... |

The guy with crew-cut haircut that stand next to Adam remind me of the movie Bodyguard. He looks like an very experience ex-special agent that is hired to be his bodyguard in China. I don't say bad thing about the country, China, but If he is an experiance bodyguard to protect him there, I would be very pleased. Someone has to protect our treasure, Adam Lambert ;D If that bodyguard was on CSI, he'd be a Russian bad guy and get shot before the 2nd commercial. But if Adam hired him, he's probably a Libra pussycat. For those of you who don't understand "pussycat," it means sweet and chilled. |

Do you have your towel? Sorry, Hitchhiker reference. Anyway, like I said, don't panic because the majority response everywhere that I have checked has been positive. No song is going to grab everybody. Sometimes being a fan is a disadvantage when it comes to gauging the "general public" response. We tend to focus on things that the casual listener doesn't even notice and miss the things that they actually do get. The Press has been positive and most comments on sites have been positive. Take a deep breath and just concentrate on Adam's voice. It's always beautiful even on drek like the Take One songs. |
