That is an interesting comment from Freddie about technology. I was just watching the HBO Bee Gee's documentary which I highly recommend. In 1977 they were in a chateau in France working on "Stayin' Alive" when their drummer had to leave unexpectedly as his mother was ill. The sound engineers found a drum bit they liked, slowed it down, and spliced a tape (old school!) and made a repetitive loop. The drummer returned and after a first listen he realized how amazing it was. They all recognized then the shift in the need for live musicians. Of course, that song went on to become a huge hit.

happy, your comments on the Bee Gees documentary were spot-on. I watched it, too, and thought it was excellent. I recommend it to anyone here. You don't have to have been a BGs fan to appreciate their impact on the music of their time. They were HUGE.They REALLY had their ups and down, too. The part about using electronics instead of a live drummer was really a pivotal moment in their whole sound and in tech music in general. It was a real "AHA" moment.
