I wasn't able to post here yesterday MEMORIAL DAY but I wanted to acknowledge all the brave men and women who have given their lives so we can live free.🇺🇸 Agreed. We don't have Memorial Day here, but we do honour those who served and who lost their lives on Remembrance Day in November. My Dad and many of my uncles served in WWII. My aunt lost her fiancee in the last months of the war. Very sad. |

So sorry for your Aunts loss. The sacrifices of the fallen loves ones' families must, also not be forgotten. |

OK...i gotta be honest: as a German i never quite understood the whole thanking Veterans Thing. I guess when your country is responsible for two world wars you're kinda over the whole war Thing. And who is defending what is debatable to say the least. But thats Just my opinion! |

Here Remembrance Day is more about the sacrifice during recent wars and peacekeeping missions. The message "Lest We Forget" has taken on more of a meaning of pursuing peace and not letting war happen again. In Canada, we also have Armed Forces Day which is about the military and is not as big a deal as Remembrance Day. |
