Flights Shanghai-LAX (Sun/Mon): 1:00 PM - 9:05 AM (China Eastern) 8:25 PM - 3:35 PM (United) 9:45 PM - 5:25 PM (American) 11 hr., 43 min. duration Flight Shanghai-Helsinki (Sun/Mon): 10:15 AM - 2:50 PM (Finn Air) 10 hr., 35 min. duration Adam is young, resilient, and used to flying trans-globe. Perhaps he COULD visit Sauli in Helsinki Mon/Tue and fly back to LA on Wednesday (if he's surprise guest on X-Factor on Thursday night). Could this be Adam's chance to visit Helsinki before he starts promoting BTIKM? I kinda like that idea. Win-win. If Adam was flying to Finland --- why wouldn't he just fly there? Distance Shanghai - Helsinki is 4585 miles Distance Shanghai - Los Angeles is 6,510 miles and then he would need to fly to Finland another 5,595 -- and that is assuming direct flights. ETA: Adamme -- yes, that is the big mystery. Why move the single up to such an odd time? And why did they decide to do it a few weeks ago after planning a January release? |

For one of Adam's singles, he was in the KIIS studios. There are photos of him in the green room drinking coffee.

You know, maybe Adam wasn't asked to do X-Factor and planned all along to go to Finland. Maybe he wanted that to be a secret and hoped to get away without being caught! He could have sneaked quietly into Finland and no one would know, at least for a while. It's possible. :-/   |

BUT, it does not explain the date for the drop being moved up so suddenly. Remember, during the EMAs and the week after he was saying January. if there is no big promo this week, with the radio holiday freeze, January 4th or 11th would have been fine for the single drop. |

***** WARNING. JUST FOR FUN. TOTALLY MADE UP ***** Adam originally planned to fly back to LA with the others. He and Sauli have been separated before. No big deal. Besides, Adam is gonna be super busy with promotion, and he doesn't celebrate the holiday anyway. Sauli needs the time with his own friends. Then, he saw Sauli's blog with all the photos of him with his Nordic guy friends. He read Mia and Zinnia's translation about how wonderful it was to be home with his good friends hosting a big party. Getting a hearty welcome. And, by his own words, Adam is a jealous guy. Maybe it IS time to go meet the family. And to walk up to anyone flirting with Sauli and stake his claim. Oh, and he found he really missed his lover and thought it would be romantic to "pop in" on him. |

He dropped by the studio to promote the Tour Apr 15, 2010 and the Aftermath single March 9, 2011. He phoned in on Jul 27, 2010 to talk about the new album, for the FYE World premier and for the IIHY promo. One time he joked about calling from bed. |

For all the romantics out there, do somehting for me, completely take Sauli out of the equation and tell me if this rollout makes sense to you? Suppose it was Adam going on vacation while his single drops, after being mysteriosuly and suddenly moved up from January to Dec. ???  |

To add another (non food) comparison to the BTIKM discussion, I'd like to say that Adam's 2nd album is a lot like his time on AI. As his first song it was best to stick with Satisfaction-- for if he did something like Born To Be Wild at the beginning he may have scared a few people off. We all may want him to do all songs as groundbreaking as Ring of Fire, but Adam knows he must also appeal to the average voter with Play that Funky Music and Change Is Gonna Come sung wearing a suit rather than a feathery sexy bird outfit. And as he said, although he downplayed his eccentric side on the show, all the songs still represented real parts of him. It may not have been WLL, but the tame If I Don't Have You was oozing with emotion and vocal skill and was epic in it's own right. At this point in his career, like on Idol, he still needs to play for the votes. BTIKM shows the vocal skill, the emotion and artistry but if it doesn't push the envelope enough for you, never fear--the gold platform boots and shoulder armor may be just a song away.
