Q102 is now less than 300 followers away from the 25,000 they asked us to help them get. Didn't they need almost 5,000 when they asked us? I forgot what their total was when they sent the request. is #2 #1 right now, but it still shows TBA for title and 2011 as date, they are running out of time. Also, Madonna is not on the list. I am not sure what this trendrr tool is that supposedly is behind this list, but there are a lot of things about this list that make no rhyme or reason. And yes, Adam should be on top of that list right now, if you look at what else they have listed there for Q1-2012. Madonna would also not sell 280K anymore this time around, no matter when she releases. Her personal situation (age / off the market for long time, etc) plus overall shrinkage of album market come together here. I think in a race against Adam it is probably a toss up at this point who would come out on top. Such a match-up would get lots of pre-release anticipation (two dance albums, potentially Nile on both albums, etc), but in the end only one can win. If Madonna does not take the crown, her career will be written off by tons of folks in the press, so she would take a huge risk to run against Adam. So I think or hope that Interscope stays away from that scenario. First week sales will be compared even if they are in different weeks. If Madonna releases i.e. on 3/27/12, there is nothing different between the two weeks that would make total numbers not comparable. Overall at this point with limited knowledge my guess is that both have a chance at about 150K in first week sales, it will be close, imho, and I do think that Adam could win this, but prefer for the sake of my nerves to not let it come to that competition. ETA: I swear a second ago, it had him at #2 and had this #jeezy album with a release date of tomorrow next to it, but now he is back to #1, so I fixed my post |

I am afraid that Interscope might deliberately release the same week as Adam so as to overshadow him. why would Interscope care about Adam? I don't think labels plan their releases around "upstaging" new artists who have zero impact on their bottom line. Well, record companies are competive between each other so I don't see why it isn't a possibility especially since Interscope is now the Idol label and they might want to overshadow a SONY Idol. It's not so ridiculously out of the realm of possibility. Record labels DO jocky a lot of releases around what other record labels are doing in order to either avoid or invite comparisons. Nickleback and Daughtry were released together in spite of the fact that both bands asked not to be, but the record companies wanted it that way. Nickleback talked about this in an interview. |

If you only hit refresh it probably didn't remove Jeezy at first. |

Madonna is a legend so I doubt she will suffer any career damage if her album doesn't sell like hotcakes. She can just cry into her pillows stuffed full of money.
