WOOHOO!!!! I heard BTIKM on 97.3 in the SF Bay Area today a little past 330pm!!! It sounded soooooooooooooooo good to hear it on my radio. OMG! The other stations here better get on the ball and play his music too. With his last CD only a couple of stations out here played WWFM and I think only one played IIHY and that was rare!! But, I'm soooooooooo excited I heard it!! YAY!  Aww I missed it again, but YAY for 97.3 playing it!!! Did they say when they might play it again? Hi theosgma!!!! :D |

I'm kind of glad it isn't you because then it would be creepy for me to say... "Damn he is HOT!" LOL  I may have to do a google search. On another note.. my 7 year old daughter is in the tub singing Bohemian Rhapsody. My work is done here. ;D  OMG! That is so cute and hilarious at the same time! omg = 7 yrs old!!  |

Almost every chain in the US has centralized merchandising, planning and replinishment, Store employees (including managers) have little to no direct control over what or how much is stocked.
In all of the major US chains, whether done by a third party (a jobber or licensee) or not, CD's are stocked based upon a centralized merchandising, planning and replenishment system.
Using Walmart as an example, but same basic system applies to all retailers. Walmart's music business is run by a third party -- Anderson. Anderson has a couple of thousand employees who work in Walmart stores making sure the music department is set up properly, and CDs are in the right place. But the decision of what is placed in a store is done by one merchant and his staff for the entire chain. The merchandising team decides what titles will be stocked and works with the labels and distributors to set initial stock levels. Stores are replenished based on a computer model that using sales history, seasonal trends and other information to set stock levels and assortment by store. The merchandising team can override the model -- for example, adjusting stock for major tours.
