This makes the most sense. I'm going with a really, really, really bad game of international "telephone" also. And, being an ex bartender, knowing all too well that past and present lovers together in a bar with loads of alcohol involved can only leave to some drunk hugging. OK Again huge upfront disclaimer because noone really knows what happened. Maybe Sauli was not wasted at all and the following comment has no relation to the reality of their situation whatsoever. This is not a blame game. No casting of right or wrong on either of them. Just wanted to make myself feel good by saying that, if Sauli did get wasted... in general when bringing boyfriend to meet new friends, family, etc. for the first time, on your own turf where said boyfriend doesn't speak the native language and is in the vulnerable position, it is wise to not get completely wasted, (drunk is fine, wasted not so much), and to take responsibility for helping make boyfriend's entrance to new environment relatively smooth. According to all the sources in Finnish press, Sauli was taken to a drunk tank, and they don't put you there unless you are completely wasted an incapable of taking care of yourself. And I really agree with what you were saying, except I would maybe say that even drunk is too much. Especially the way us Finns sometimes get drunk. Both of them should do quite a bit of soul searching today. I would say the exact same thing if someone I actually knew was in the same situation. Even when you remove the fame and era #2 and all that, this is just not acceptable behavior from adults.

Just FYI I'm editing and/or deleting posts that don't follow Atop rules.
Please don't question or interrogate other posters or criticize them for their opinions. And posting the same opinion over and over again does not qualify as news or as discussion of news. (Check Rule 3)

Welcome jussayin! We don't have many "pearl clutchers" here, but we do like to discuss. All opinions are welcome as long as they are civil.

OK people, as I said, over the incident.
So what's up with this guy from the UK tweeting about the single??? UK!! I mean, it's huge. Isn't he like in charge of a music show or something? Anybody heard anything else from/about him?

OK, here is my "brush with the drunk tank" story, happened about 10 years ago, long after my stupid youthful days. After spending a couple of hours drinking Gold Cadillacs (at Poor Red's, for any other Nor Cal folks reading this), my BF and I left the bar and walked to our car, laughing and hugging and having a great time, no problems or arguments. There were a couple of policemen standing a few yards away. Unbeknown to us, they followed us as we were driving down a country road and stopped us about a mile away. They claimed our car had crossed the dividing line, but I think that was just an excuse to stop us. My BF failed the roadside sobriety test, but I passed it. They said he would have to go to jail, but let me go home.
Anyway, the point of this story: there was no drama, no fighting, no bad behavior, but someone still ended up in jail with, for a first-time offense, an $1800 DUI fine. If we had been celebrities, I'm sure the reporting would have been different ... "drunk and disorderly" instead of tipsy and having a good time. And, my friend doesn't drink and drive anymore.

Oh dear, some of the posters here don't like being called "pearl clutchers?" If I was writing a dictionary of idioms, I would link directly to this discussion for examples of "clutching their pearls." This is why people buy tabloids and follow gossip; if you never grew out of the middle-school-drama-queen stage, if you still get a vicarious rush out of following the antics of celebs (who have no idea who you are), and then breathlessly discussing it ad nauseam with other pearl-clutchers, if it makes your own days a little more exciting, then just OWN it and get over the indignation. It's okay, you're a vital and integral part of the big ecosystem of celebrity. And, if you're the celeb, it's still better to have people talking about you than ignoring you (like maybe people will start ignoring the Kardashians so they'll go away...please?). Personally, I just want AFL's music to keep coming and, offhand, I can't think of a single band or artist whose career was irreparably damaged because of some occasional raucous "badboy" behavior--and, hell, most of us LOVE those badboys! We want to be them or we want to f*** them. It's all part of Rock 'n' Roll, and I embrace AFL the Rocker ("From New York to LA getting high rock n' rollin, get a room trash it up 'til it's ten in the morning"...grind your crotch into the face of a dancer and kiss your keyboard player at the AMA's, punch a whole in Gaga's ceiling, wrestle an obnoxious pap at the beach..). He's not self-destructive, so put away the pearls and put on the leather. OK, break's over, now I have to get back to work at my real job (regular people have to eat, too). 8-) I sense another member of my #itisallahugewin team! Welcome jussayin!DITTO!
