Here's the AP report on the incident.
HELSINKI (AP) — Finnish police say they detained Adam Lambert after he assaulted people who tried to break up a fight between the former "American Idol" star and his boyfriend in downtown Helsinki.
Detective Superintendent Petri Juvonen said the fight spread from a popular gay bar early Thursday into the street where Lambert was suspected of hitting two people who tried to break it up.
Juvonen said that Lambert's boyfriend, "Finnish Big Brother" star Sauli Koskinen, also was held for questioning. He said no weapons were used, no one was seriously hurt and that it was not "a very serious incident."
Police said the two men were released after a few hours and that no further action would be taken.

Well, a drunken scuffle and a night in the drunk tank, while not something I appreciate, isn't the end of the world. I think it has been way overblown because he/they are celebrities. Adam is not stupid and he will adjust his behavior appropriately, I think. I do not believe he has an alcohol problem, or he would not have made the tour, the promo and a new record without incident. I believe in him but he is a human being with flaws, like the rest of us! No one is perfect, no one (okay, maybe he is almost perfect)! I agree...this situation to me is an opportunity for learning for both Adam and Sauli. How too much alcohol in anyone can result in behaviors that otherwise might not present. Perhaps this is an 'aha' moment for them both as to what extent each will continue in the world of clubs, partying, booze and all that jazz. To have a scuffle with the one you love is a potent catalyst for meaningful contemplation. I wish them both the best!  I think they are a remarkable couple. |

Maybe the police officers in Finland were Adam's fans and wanted to spend some time with him. For an offence so small with no weapons or really hurting people a fight like that would have been just to separate the guyes and advise them to go home.)) They couldn't separate them, because it was already over by the time the police got there! |

Break my heart  he's in another Country and he's completely alone. My first thought too. He's in a strange country with no one and no protectors. The coming out of jail will probably be brutal. Guess there won't be a meet and greet with the parents. :( Nothing to worry about. The Finnish policemen are kind and friendly. I'd much rather be arrested in Finland than in any other country whatever nationality I was. He was just sleeping there to get sober. No drama. |
